Tire company recalls more than half a million snow tires
Prinx Chengshan Tire North America Inc. recalled more than 541,000 snow tires due to insufficient traction in snowy conditions, posing a potential crash risk.Â
The recall involves Fortune Tormenta and Prinx Hicountry snow tires sold as replacements. A full list of affected makes and models is available on the NHTSA website.Â
The tires fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as their performance in snow does not align with the safety requirements for snow-labeled tires, according to the recall notice.
Prinx Chengshan Tire North America Inc. says it is developing a remedy for the issue and expects to mail notification letters to owners by Feb. 1, 2025, the recall notice states.Â
MadeGood granola bars recalled due to potential metal contamination
Riverside Natural Foods Inc. recalled select flavors of its popular MadeGood granola bars due to the potential presence of metal pieces in the products.Â
Riverside distributed these products across the United States, Canada and other international markets, according to the recall notice. The recall includes several flavors, such as Chocolate Chip, Mixed Berry, Strawberry, Cookies & Crème, Chocolate Banana, Chocolate Drizzled Birthday Cake, Chocolate Drizzled Cookie Crumble and Chocolate Drizzled Vanilla Granola Bars.
Riverside Natural Foods identified and resolved the source of the issue in its manufacturing process, the recall notice states. It has not received reports of injuries. Customers who purchased the affected granola bars should compare them against the recall list and, if necessary, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.Â
Recall issued for Christmas light controller sold at Target
Mr. Christmas announced a recall for more than 44,000 Christmas light controllers sold at Target, Walmart and Cracker Barrel due to a fire hazard caused by overheating.Â
The recall affects wireless decorative tree light controllers sold nationwide and online between July and November 2024, according to the recall notice. The wireless receiver that plugs into an outlet can overheat, with the company reporting 10 incidents of overheating, including one fire, but no injuries.Â
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled controllers and return them to the store of purchase for a full refund, the recall notice says. The affected products include a green, red and white peppermint-shaped controller with a candy cane on/off lever sold at Walmart and Cracker Barrel and a Wondershop square controller with green, red and white balls sold at Target.Â
Recall issued for Ram vehicles due to potential hydraulic control unit failure
Chrysler recalled more than 300,000 Ram pickup trucks due to a potential failure in the hydraulic control unit that could compromise essential vehicles safety systems.Â
The recall involves 317,630 model year 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, as well as Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 3500 <10k Pound Cab Chassis and Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis trucks. This defect can lead to the loss of antilock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control, the recall notice states.
To address the issue, Chrysler says it will replace the brake hydraulic control unit in the affected vehicles at no cost to owners, according to the recall notice. It expects to mail notification letters by Jan. 9, 2025.Â

Sprouts issues recall for gyro kits due to potential salmonella contaminationÂ
Sprouts Farmers Market issued a recall for select Gyro Family Kits due to potential salmonella contamination in cucumbers used in the tzatziki sauce.Â
The recall is part of a broader recall of cucumbers in 26 U.S. states and Canada over similar concerns, according to the recall notice. Sprouts packaged the affected kits, identified by UPC 20594800000 and use-by dates of Dec. 29, 2024, to Jan. 7, 2025, in plastic trays with clear plastic lids. It distributed the kits to Sprouts stores across 24 states, including Arizona, California, Texas, Florida and Virginia.
While Sprouts has not received reports of illnesses in connection with the recalled gyro kits, salmonella can cause serious health risks, particularly for children, the elderly and individuals with weakened immune systems, the recall notice states. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.Â
Customers who purchased the recalled kits should dispose of them or return them to their local Sprouts store for a full refund.Â
