RiseWell falsely advertised childrenโ€™s toothpaste as chemical free, class action claims

A pair of consumers filed a class action lawsuit against RiseWell LLC last month over claims the company falsely advertised childrenโ€™s toothpaste as โ€œnaturalโ€ and chemical-free.

The class action lawsuit argues that RiseWell childrenโ€™s toothpaste, despite its advertising, contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) linked to potential health issues.ย

โ€œPlaintiff purchased the Product because it was advertised as being safe to swallow and would not have purchased it or would not have made the purchase on the same terms had she known that the Product contained toxic, PFAS chemicals,โ€ the RiseWell class action says.ย

Class action says Dreamland weighted sleep products not safe for infants

A consumer filed a class action lawsuit against Dreamland Baby Co. last month over claims the company sells weighted sleep products that are unsafe for infants.ย

The class action lawsuit argues Dreamland manufactures and sells weighted baby sleep sacks for infants despite being aware of the danger the products allegedly pose to them.

โ€œUnbeknownst to consumersโ€ฆ the products are not safe and do not meet industry or regulatory guidelines for baby sleep products,โ€ the Dreamland class action says.

Google collected personal information of minors without parental consent, class action claims

A federal judge in California recently approved a class action lawsuit filed in June 2023 against Google by six minors.ย

The class action lawsuit, which was filed through the minorsโ€™ parents, claims Google failed to obtain parental consent prior to allegedly collecting the minorsโ€™ personal information via various mobile apps.

Specifically, Google is alleged to have been aware app developer Tiny Lab Productions was collecting the data of minors through apps included in Googleโ€™s Designed for Families (DFF) program.ย

Google, in a motion to dismiss, argued it had banned Tiny Labs from its DFF program in 2018, and thus the complaint was filed too late.ย

Hatch Baby recalls more than 90,000 power adapters over shock hazard concerns

Hatch Baby issued a recall for more than 90,000 power adapters sold with the companyโ€™s Rest 1st Generation sound machines in July over concerns they could pose a shock hazard.

The recall comes after at least two consumers reported being shocked by the devices and 19 reports of the plastic housing surrounding the AC power adapter coming off.ย

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled power adapters immediately and contact the company for a free replacement.ย
