DM Merchandising has recalled around 34,600 Bunkhouse and Lotsa Lites Connectable Mini String Lights over concerns their bulbs can overheat when the string lights are plugged directly into an outlet, creating burn and fire hazards.ย 

The recall involves Bunkhouse and Lotsa Lites Connectable Mini String Lights that were sold in Christmas, Everyday and Halloween packages with SKU numbers XSTL24, BHSTL24 and HSTL24, respectively.ย 

DM Merchandising, which imports the recalled string lights, said it has received three reports of the recalled mini string lights overheating; however, no injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.ย 

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using and unplug the recalled mini string lights and to contact DM Merchandising to receive a full refund, along with information on how to take part in the recall.ย 

Recalled mini string lights sold nationwide from August through September 2023

The recalled Bunkhouse and Lotsa Lites Connectable Mini String Lights were sold nationwide at gift stores, boutiques and online from August through September 2023 for between $10 and $13.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact DM Merchandising โ€” which said it is contacting all known purchases directly โ€” by phone at 800-548-6784, by email or through its website.ย 

In another recall involving lights, Spirit Halloween recalled about 12,400 of its 48-inch black light fixtures in June 2022 over concerns the bulb in the fixture could pop, flash and overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.ย ย
