The recall involves Answers Detailed Beef Formula for Dogs with a best-buy date of May 6, 2026; Answers Straight Beef Formula for Dogs with a best-by date of Jan. 31, 2026; and Answers Straight Chicken Formula for Dogs with best-by dates of Jan. 2, 2026, and March 11, 2026.
Answers said no illnesses have been reported in connection with the dog food recall and that the recall was initiated “out of an abundance of caution.”
Answers recall involves dog food distributed throughout US
Answers says there is concern both for animals who may eat the contaminated dog food and humans who handle it, especially if thorough hand washing does not occur after.
The recalled Answers dog food products, meanwhile, were distributed throughout the U.S. in retail stores and sold online, according to the dog food recall.
Consumers who own any of the recalled Answers dog food products may receive a refund by contacting Answers through email with a receipt, a picture of the recalled product(s) and the retailer’s information.
Viva Raw issued a recall for five varieties of its dog and cat foods earlier this year over similar concerns the pet food products were contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.
