Church Brothers Farms issued a recall for 1,271 cases of green onions over concerns they may have been contaminated with salmonella.

The recall involves certain Church Brothers’ Green Onions Iceless 4x2lb Reg Church Brothers Mexico, Trader Joe’s-brand Green Onion Iceless 24x6oz Reg Trader Joe’s Mexico and Imperial Fresh-brand Green Onion Iceless 4x2lb Reg products.

The recalled green onions were distributed to a “small number” of retail and foodservice customers in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia, as well as in Canada, according to the recall.

“This recall is the result of a single product sample collected by (the) Canadian Food Inspection Agency that indicated the presence of Salmonella,” the green onions recall says.
