Quaker Oats Co. recalls Pearl Milling pancake, waffle mix

The Quaker Oats Co. is recalling a limited number of boxes of Pearl Milling Co. Original Pancake & Waffle Mix as the product may contain undeclared milk.

The recall was published to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website on Jan. 14. It applies to two pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix with UPC 30000 65040 and Best Before Date of Sept. 1, 2025.

According to the recall, the mix may contain undeclared milk, which the company became aware of after being alerted by a retail partner. 

“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product,” the company said. 

No allergic reactions related to the recall have been reported to date, the company said. The Quaker Oats Co. is not currently facing legal action but Top Class Actions follows recall closely as they can sometimes result in lawsuits.

Pearl Milling recall active in at least 11 states

The Pearl Milling recall applies to product distributed to certain retailers in the following 11 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah and Wisconsin.

Consumers would have been able to purchase this mix as early as Nov. 18, 2024, the recall states.

Meanwhile, last year, TreeHouse Foods Inc. recalled certain frozen waffle products sold under multiple brand names as they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
