Northwest Naturals recall overview: 

  • Who: Northwest Naturals issued a recall for one batch of its Northwest Naturals two-pound Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food. 
  • Why: The recall was initiated after the recalled cat food tested positive for the avian influenza virus. 
  • Where: The recalled cat food was sold through distributors in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington and British Columbia, Canada. 

Northwest Naturals issued a recall for one batch of its name brand two-ound Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food after it tested positive for the avian flu virus. 

The recall involves Northwest Natural two-pound Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food with “Best if used by” dates of May 21, 2026, and June 23, 2026. 

The recalled cat food was sold through distributors in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, and British Columbia, Canada, according to the cat food recall. 

Consumers who purchased the recalled cat food are advised to immediately discard it and to contact the place of purchase to receive a full refund. 

One case of domestic cat illness reported in connection with recall

Northwest Naturals said one case of illness involving a domestic cat has so far been reported in connection with the recall.

The Northwest Naturals recall is the latest in a string of recent recalls and class action lawsuits involving pet food products. 

The recalls were initiated over salmonella-related concerns while the class action lawsuits were filed over claims the pet food products were falsely advertised as “natural.”
