Nestlé USA recalled two batches of its Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar as it may contain wood fragments.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) website published the recall Aug. 11. It applies to two batches of Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “break and bake” bar products produced April 24-25, 2023.

According to the notice, Nestlé initiated the recall after customers contacted it about wood fragments in the products.

“While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, we are taking this action out of an abundance of caution after a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue,” the cookie dough recall says.

The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Nestlé offers replacement or refund, cookie dough recall states

Nestlé distributed the cookie dough bars to retailers across the United States, the recall says.

Consumers who have purchased Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar (16.5-ounce) with batch codes 311457531K and 311557534K should not prepare or consume the product. They should return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a replacement or refund, the Nestlé recall says.

“We are confident that this is an isolated issue and we have taken action to address it,” the recall states.

Nestlé recalled another cookie dough product in 2022. It recalled some of its Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough tubs from Nestlé Toll House as the dough possibly contained plastic film.
