M&P Food Production recall overview:

  • Who: M&P Food Production Ltd. has recalled several of its blintzes, pirozhki and vareniki products.
  • Why: The productsโ€™ packaging does not disclose the food items may contain allergens like wheat, milk and/or sesame that can cause life-threatening allergies in some consumers.
  • Where: The recalled products were sold in Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Maryland.

M&P Food Production blintzes, pirozhki and vareniki have been recalled because they may contain undeclared allergens, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

In its Aug. 29 announcement about the M&P Food Production recall, the company notes the products may contain undeclared wheat, milk and/or sesame. Consumers with severe allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products.

FDA inspection found M&P Food Production blintzes packaging did not disclose allergens

An FDA inspection reportedly discovered the products containing the allergens were distributed in packaging that did not disclose the presence of those allergens.

The M&P Food Production blintzes, pirozhki and vareniki were reportedly distributed in retail stores in Connecticut, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Maryland and showed โ€œbest byโ€ dates of Aug. 27, 2024, to Aug. 27, 2025.

The products named in the M&P Food Production recall announcement include:

  • Cheese & Berry Blintzes (UPC: 707163303257)
  • Cheese Blintzes (UPC: 707163303251)
  • Pirozhki with Black Currant (No UPC Code)
  • Pirozhki with Potatoes (No UPC Code)
  • Pirozhki with Cabbage (No UPC Code)
  • Sour Cherry Vareniki (UPC: 707163026150)
  • Potato & Onion Vareniki (UPC: 707163026167)
  • Potato & Mushroom Vereniki (UPC: 707163026174)
  • Farmer Cheese Vereniki (UPC: 707163026181)

The company says no illnesses have been reported.

Unilever recently recalled some of its Jolly Rancher popsicles due to undeclared milk.
