Male sexual enhancement pills recall announced due to undeclared tadalafil

Male sexual enhancement pills recall overview:

Male sexual enhancement pills sold on Amazon under the name Wonder Pill are being recalled as they may contain undeclared tadalafil, meaning they are not approved for sale by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall was announced Sept. 28 on the FDA website. It applies to the product Wonder Pill, lots 20210912 and 31853-501, expiry 09/24, packaged in 10-count blisters, co-packaged in a carton and in 60-count bottles to the consumer level and sold by Proper Trade LLC/My Stellar Lifestyle.

The male sexual enhancement pills recall was initiated after Amazon notified Proper Trade LLC/My Stellar Lifestyle that laboratory analysis had found the product to be tainted with tadalafil. 

Tadalafil is an ingredient in FDA-approved products for treatment of male erectile dysfunction in the family of drugs known as phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitors. 

However, the undeclared presence of tadalafil in the Wonder Pill capsules makes the product an “unapproved drug” for which the safety and efficacy has not been established and is therefore subject to recall, the recall states.

Male sexual enhancement pills recall says Wonder Pill poses health risks

Consumers with underlying medical issues who take the Wonder Pill with undeclared tadalafil may experience serious health risks, the recall states. 

“For example, PDE-5 inhibitors may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) lowering blood pressure to dangerous levels that may be life-threatening,” the male sexual enhancement pills recall states.

To date, Proper Trade LLC/ My Stellar Lifestyle has not received any reports of adverse events related to the recall, the notice says. 

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

“Consumers that have Wonder Pill capsules which are being recalled should stop using the product,” the male sexual enhancement pills recall says.

Meanwhile, in February, a slate of male sexual enhancement pills sold on Amazon were recalled by their producers after they also were found to contain tadalafil.
