The Hannaford supermarket chain has recalled a range of fresh salads and pasta meals over concerns that some of the products may be contaminated with Listeria.
The recall was published to the Hannaford website on Oct. 2. It applies to certain fresh salads and alfredo pasta meals sold in its produce and deli departments.
According to the recall, the retailer received a notification from its manufacturer that the following products have the potential for Listeria contamination:
- Fiesta Salad with Chicken, UPC: 03022307123
- Cobb Salad with Chicken and Bacon, UPC: 03022307124
- Caesar Salad with Chicken, UPC: 03022307126
- Caesar Salad with Chicken and Bacon, UPC: 03022307127
- BLT Salad with Chicken, UPC: 03022307128
- Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken, UPC: 03022307024
- Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken Family Meal, UPC: 03022307029
The products were available for sale from Sept. 23 through Oct. 1, 2024, the recall says.
It says there have been no reports of Listeria illness so far, however all the potentially impacted products have been removed from sale “out of an abundance of caution.”
Free refund offered
Hannaford customers should check their freezers for the recalled salads and pastas, the company says, while warning people not to eat them.
The items may be returned to consumers’ local Hannaford locations for a full refund.
Meanwhile, in July, an Ohio farm that supplies fresh vegetables to Walmarts, Krogers and other major supermarket chains expanded a major produce recall due to possible listeria monocytogenes contamination.
