Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set recall overview:ย

  • Who: Fisher-Price has recalled more than 400,000 dumbbells in its Baby Biceps Gift Set.
  • Why: The dumbbell may pose a choking hazard for children.
  • Where: The Fisher-Price recall is active in the United States and Canada.

Fisher-Price has issued a recall for the dumbbell toy included in its popular Baby Biceps Gift Set due a choking hazard.

The recall, announced Aug. 29 on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, affects about 366,200 products in the United States and another 37,850 in Canada.

Though Fisher-Price has received seven reports of the dumbbellโ€™s end caps coming off, no injuries have been reported so far, the company said.ย

The company is not currently facing legal action, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they can sometimes result in lawsuits.ย

The recall stems from an issue with the gray caps on the ends of the dumbbell toy, which can detach and pose a choking risk to young children.ย

The toy, which features a gray bar with orange and red plastic weights, is part of the Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set.ย

The affected product can be identified by model number GJD49, which is printed on the back of the kettlebell toy.

โ€˜Immediately stop usingโ€™ product, Fisher-Price recall says

Consumers who own the dumbbell toy are urged to immediately stop using it and keep it out of reach of young children.ย

Fisher-Price is offering a refund of $10 for the dumbbell toy, and customers can keep the other items in the gift set. Proof of purchase is not required.

To receive the refund, consumers must visit the companyโ€™s website, upload a photo of the toy, and follow instructions on how to dispose of it safely. Once Fisher-Price confirms that the toy will be disposed of properly, the refund will be issued.

The affected products were sold at major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon from April 2020 through August 2024 for around $18.

In March, Fisher-Price recalled about 204,000 Donald and Daisy Duck plastic figures in the U.S. and about 11,000 that were sold in Canada as part of its Little People Mickey and Friends figure pack.
