Boarโ€™s Head issued a recall for approximately 207,528 pounds of liverwurst and other deli meat products amid an ongoing listeria outbreak that has been linked to a number of hospitalizations and two deaths.ย

The recall involves all Boarโ€™s Head liverwurst products and deli meat products produced on the same line and on the same day as the liverwurst, according to the Food and Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).ย

The recalled Boarโ€™s Head ready-to-eat liverwurst products were produced between June 11, 2024, and July 17, 2024, and shipped with sell-by dates ranging from July 25, 2024, through Aug. 30, 2024, according to the recall.ย

The FSIS said the additional Boarโ€™s Head deli meats included in the recall were produced June 27, 2024 and shipped to retail deli locations nationwide.ย

Consumers advised not to eat recalled Boarโ€™s Head deli meats

The listeria outbreak is linked to 34 illnesses in 13 states โ€” including 33 hospitalizations and two deaths โ€” as of July 25, 2024, according to the FSIS.ย

Consumers who have purchased the recalled Boarโ€™s Head deli meat are urged not to consume the products, while retailers are urged not to sell the products and to use their sell by dates as a reference.ย

The FSIS is also urging consumers who purchased the recalled deli meat products to clean their refrigerators thoroughly in order to prevent the risk of cross-contamination.ย

Consumers with more questions about the recall can contact Boarโ€™s Head directly by telephone at 1-800-352-6277.ย

We love boars head meat. The last few weeks Iโ€™ve ate the ham on sandwiches and in omelettes. I have had severe nausea and vomiting and could not figure out why I am so sick. I still have nausea and unable to eat.
