Kroger Country Oven Recall Overview: 

• Who: Kroger is recalling Country Oven baked goods.
• Why: There are possible metal fragments in the starch used to manufacture the products.
• Where: The recall is for products in 29 different states.

The Kroger Co. is recalling certain Country Oven baked goods because of possible metal fragments in starch used to manufacture the products.

The recalled products were distributed by Kroger grocery stores in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas, California, Oregon, Arkansas, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Virginia, and Utah.

Metal fragments led to the recently expanded recall of Tastykake multipack cupcakes and krimpets, made by Flower Foods, as well.

Consumers can use the label information to determine whether they have the recalled products in their homes.

The products Kroger has recalled include:

• Country Oven White Cake 7 lb., 13.5 and 29 oz., UPC 0001111005643, 0001111019715, 0001111019742 and 0001111006361 and use by dates of 04/05/22, 03/28/22, 03/29/22, 03/15/22 and 03/18/22;
• Country Oven Chocolate Cake, 13.5, 60 and 40 oz., UPC 0001111019708, 0001111019721, 0001111019721 and 0001111006325 and use by dates of 03/17/22, 03/29/22, 03/30/22 and 03/16/22;
• Country Oven White/Vanilla Cake, 37oz., UPC 0001111019348 and use by date of 04/04/22;
• Country Oven Yellow/Vanilla Cake, 37oz., UPC 0001111019350 and use by date of 04/02/22;
