California-based health food supplement company BUBS Naturals has recalled its MCT Oil Powder, due to containing undeclared milk.

In the recall notice, the Food and Drug Administration said that although there had been no reports of illness involving the product, people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk ran the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consumed the product.

BUB Naturals does not currently face any legal action from the recall, however, Top Class Actions will continue to monitor this and other food safety recalls in the interest of consumer protection.

The BUBS Naturals MCT Oil Powder comes in a 10.6-ounce gusset bag and was distributed through the company’s online store, Amazon, and some grocery stores.

Lot codes MCT50200004, MCT50200005, MCT50200006, MCT50200007, MCT50200008, MCT50200009, and MCT50200010 — all with the expiration date of Jan. 2022 — and lot codes MCT50200011, MCT50200012, and MCT50200013 with expiration dates of May 2022 are all subject to the recall. The UPC code of the products is 796752137889.

The lot code and expiration date are located on the back of the bag, in the bottom center of the panel.

This recall is being initiated because the MCT Oil Powder in this product is under recall for undeclared milk allergens by the ingredient supplier, the FDA said.

“Customers with a milk allergy or sensitivity who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume it and dispose of it or return it to the point of purchase,” the recall notice says.

Consumers with questions regarding this recall can contact BUBS Naturals customer service via email or phone at 760-456-2631, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.

BUBS Natural isn’t the only company that has recently had to recall a product for undeclared milk. Earlier in May, Frito-Lay recalled its Ruffles all dressed flavored potato chips due to fears of milk contamination.

And in April, Ohio-based Wolfies Roasted Nut Co. issued a voluntary recall of its Cheddar & Jalapeno Artisan Nuts due to an undeclared milk allergen and undeclared artificial colorings.
