Recall Issued for Soy in Veggie Pizza Sold in Multiple States

Consumers with a soy allergy may want to take note of a recent recall for Crazy Fresh and Quick & Easy brand Veggie Pizza sold throughout the Midwest. 

 The recall notice and allergy alert, issued Tuesday by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), says that Russ Davis Wholesale of Wadena, Minnesota has voluntarily recalled the veggie pizza due to undeclared soy in products sold at grocery stores in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The recalled veggie pizzas have Sell By dates between April 20, 2021, and May 4, 2021.  

The recalled veggie pizza was sold in clear, clamshell packaging and is 6.2 ounces.  

“People who have an allergy or sever[e] sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” warns the FDA in its recall notice 

The FDA notice goes on to say that the product’s crust supplier notified Russ Davis Wholesale of the undeclared soy potentially contaminating the veggie pizza, prompting the voluntary recall of the product.  

“Consumer who purchased Veggie Pizza under the brand of Crazy Fresh or Quick & Easy with soy allergies should not consume this product, and direct questions to Customer Service at 1-877-433-2173,” says the FDA.  

Russ Davis Wholesale has reported no illnesses or injuries related to the undeclared soy yet, according to the recall notice.
