The holidays are coming, and many Americans still find themselves facing economic uncertainty as the pandemic drags on affecting people’s health, businesses, and jobs. Indeed, there have already been a few class action settlements with big rewards for Class Members, including up to $100 for SiriusXM subscribers, reimbursement for players of Huuuge Casino games, and up to $400 for Ford truck owners.

California ACT Test Class Action Settlement

ACT test takers may be able to take part in a $16 million class action settlement.

According to a class action lawsuit, the makers of the college entrance exam, ACT Inc., improperly disclosed test takers’ disabilities to colleges and other third parties. The disclosures allegedly happened between 2002 and 2020.

ACT Inc. denies any liability, but has agreed to pay $16 million to end the claims. In addition, the company says it will change its practices to not disclose test taker’s disabilities to third parties. The $16 million will be paid to a Class of California test takers who disclosed disabilities on their exams or to obtain accommodations for the test.

Class Members will automatically be entered into the settlement, but may update their address on the settlement website. Class Members have until Dec. 21, 2020 to object to or exclude themselves from the settlement.

Ginkgold Ginkgo Biloba Class Action Settlement

Those who purchased Ginkgold products may be able to claim an $18 to $33 class action rebate!

A class action lawsuit accused Nature’s Way manufacturer Schwabe North America Inc., of falsely advertising its Ginkgold products. Allegedly, Ginkgold products were marketed based on false claims that they would improve mental acuity and circulation. Though an ingredient in the product, ginkgo bilboa, has been used in Chinese medicine, the class action alleged that no scientific evidence backed up these claims.

Nature’s Way admits no wrongdoing, but agreed to pay $3.4 million to settle the class action lawsuit. Class Members who purchased Ginkgold products can claim between $18 and $33 either online or by mail.

Claim forms must be filed by Feb. 24, 2021.

Abacus Data Systems Unwanted Text Class Action Settlement

If you received an unwanted text message from Abacus Data Systems, you may be able to claim as much as $600 in a class action settlement.

The company allegedly sent spam texts to consumers advertising their software products between 2015 and 2020. According to the class action lawsuit, the unwanted text messages told consumers their software was out of date and asked to set up an appointment with an Abacus consultant. These appointments were merely sales pitches, alleged the lawsuit.

Further, the company sent messages to consumers without permission and to those with numbers on the Do Not Call registry, according to the class action.

Abacus has denied liability, but agreed to pay $1.95 million to exit the litigation. Class Members have until Nov. 17, 2020 to submit a claim,

Costa Sunglasses Lifetime Warranty Class Action Settlement

Class Members can claim vouchers worth between $8.99 and $19.99 in a class action rebate resolving claims that Costa Del Mar falsely advertised the lifetime warranty of its sunglasses.

Consumers alleged that they were charged a warranty fee for repairs to their Costa Del Mar Plano sunglasses in violation of the “lifetime” warranty represented by the company.

Costa admitted no wrongdoing, but agreed to pay $60 million to end the class action lawsuit. Under the settlement agreement, those who submitted their Costa Plano sunglasses for repair or replacement due to accident, normal wear and tear, or misuse between April 3, 2015 and Jan. 1, 2018 may be entitled to a voucher.

Claim forms are due Jan. 31, 2021.

Horizon Solar Power Unwanted Calls Class Action Settlement

Individuals who were called by Horizon Solar Power with telemarketing messages may be able to claim a cash class action rebate.

Horizon Solar Power allegedly used telemarketers to call consumers without permission between Oct. 16, 2017 and Dec. 8, 2017. A class action lawsuit accused the company of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Horizon denied any liability, but agreed to pay $800,000 to exit the lawsuit. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Class Members can claim a portion of this amount.

Each Class Member’s award will depend on the number of claims filed and Class Members may get a second award if all settlement checks are not cashed. Claim forms are due by Dec. 9, 2020.

2 Towns Ciderhouse Hard Cider Class Action Settlement

Consumers who purchased apple-flavored 2 Towns Cider products may be able to claim class action rebates from a $1 million settlement fund.

2 Towns was accused of falsely advertising that its hard cider contained no artificial ingredients. Lead plaintiffs said that the beverage maker actually used a synthetic product to increase the apple flavor in certain drinks.

2 Towns admitted no wrongdoing, but agreed to pay Class Members a rebate based on the purchases they made between March 12, 2016, and Oct. 11, 2020. In addition, the company agreed to reformulate how it makes its apple-flavored hard cider drinks and labels them.

Class Members have until Jan. 9, 2021 to make a claim.

Prime Trucking Driver Wages Class Action Settlement

Those who participated in Prime Trucking truck driver training may be able to claim $100 or more from a $28 million class action settlement.

Prime Trucking was hit with a class action lawsuit alleging it violated wage and hour laws by failing to pay drivers for orientation training, bilking workers out of thousands of dollars in wages.

While Prime Trucking admits no wrongdoing, it agreed to pay $28 million to end the litigation.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement Class Members will be automatically entitled to receive cash payments of $100; however, those who submit a claim form by Dec. 7, 2020 could receive more.

Indiana Equifax Data Breach Class Action Settlement

Indiana residents can take part in a multimillion-dollar settlement with Equifax over a 2017 data breach that exposed the personal and financial information of approximately 150 million Americans.

Those who were residents of Indiana between March and July of 2017 can take part in the class action settlement that resolved claims the data breach was avoidable.

Indiana opted out of a larger settlement reached by all but 48 states with Equifax over the 2017 data breach; however, the state reportedly garnered a larger settlement.

Class action rebates from the Indiana Equifax data breach will depend on the total number of valid claims filed. Class Members need to file their claim form by Dec. 16, 2020.

SiriusXM Lifetime Subscription Class Action Settlement

If you purchased a lifetime subscription to SiriusXM, you may be able to claim as much as $100 cash under a class action settlement or receive a discounted subscription to the radio streaming service.

SiriusXM faced a class action lawsuit alleging it misled consumers about the terms of its lifetime subscriptions, including the “Lifetime Plan” and “Lifetime Subscription” services.

SiriusXM denies it did anything wrong, but agreed to pay $96 million to end the litigation.

Class Members with active lifetime SiriusXM subscriptions will be automatically entered into the settlement; those with inactive subscriptions have until Jan 12, 2021 to claim either a $100 class action rebate or reactivate their subscription at a discounted rate.

Huuuge Casino, Billionaire Casino, Stars Slots Class Action Rebates

Individuals who played Huuuge Casino, Billionaire Casino, Stars Slots, or other social casino games may be able to recoup some of the money they spent on in-app purchases under the terms of a class action settlement.

App maker, Huuuge Inc., was accused of violating Washington state gaming laws by luring players in with offers of free chips to play various video poker games. Allegedly, players were then hit with in-app purchase screens targeting those vulnerable to gambling addictions.

Huuuge denied any liability, but agreed to reimburse Class Members for a portion of their in-app purchases of chips under the terms of a $6.5 million class action settlement. Class Members can get an estimate of their class action rebate using an estimator tool available on the settlement website.

Class Members have until Nov. 30, 2020 to take part in this settlement.

Viega ProPress Copper Fittings Class Action Settlement

Those who purchased Viega ProPress copper fittings from a wholesaler may be able to claim a class action rebate of up to $500, along with 25% of their purchase under the terms of a class action settlement.

Viega allegedly schemed to inflate the price of their products by requiring distributors to only carry their copper press fittings. Consumers allegedly paid more for Viega ProPress copper fittings than they would have had distributors been permitted to carry competing products.

Class Members have until Dec. 15, 2020 to make a claim for purchases made between Jan 1, 2015 and Sept. 18, 2020. March 1, 2022 is the deadline for Class Members to make a class action rebate claim for future purchases.

Ford Door Latch Defect Class Action Settlement

Class action rebates of up to $400 are available to F-Series pickup owners as a part of a $5.3 million settlement over allegedly defective door latches.

A Ford truck owner claimed that the door handles in late model Ford trucks malfunctioned in cold weather. Specifically, the defective door handles fail to latch.

Ford admits no liability for the allegedly defective door handles, but has agreed to pay $5.3 million to owners and lessees for the costs of repairing door handles and a class action rebate of $10 for dissatisfaction with the part.

Class Members who paid to repair the door latches before May 4, 2020 have until Nov. 20, 2020 to claim up to $400 for those expenses. Class Members who have since repaired the door latch or do so in the future have until 30 days after the repair or until Nov. 30, 2020, whichever date is later, to make a claim in the settlement.
