UPDATE: On February 8, 2021, the Nature Nateโ€™s class action lawsuit was dismissed.

A recent class action lawsuit claims that Nature Nateโ€™sย 100% Pure Raw and Unfiltered Honey is not raw and is not 100 percent honey according to lab testing.

Plaintiff Marilyn Pierce says that on the Nature Nateโ€™s website it states that: โ€œWe simply warm the honey so that itโ€™s easier to deal with and pour into bottles. High heat is a no no. It kills all the good stuff.โ€

However, Pierce alleges that Nature Nateโ€™s honey is heated to up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit to make bottling easier โ€“ meaning that the product is not actually raw.

When raw honey is heated above 105 degrees Fahrenheit, the enzymes in the product reportedly start to break down. The Nature Nateโ€™s class action claims this causes the honey to lose its โ€œprizedโ€ characteristics which consumers pay a premium price for.

In addition, Pierce says honey from Nature Nateโ€™s may also not be 100 percent honey. Sample testing by a lab reportedly revealed that syrups had been added to the honey. The plaintiff recognizes that she cannot currently determine if it is Nature Nateโ€™s that adds the syrup or if it is done by one of Nature Nateโ€™s suppliers.

However, the class action claims that Nature Nateโ€™s website makes false statements including: โ€œWe only bottle the best. Thatโ€™s why we test. And test. And test. No antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides or added corn or rice syrup get past us.โ€

Pierce claims that Nature Nateโ€™s continues to make inaccurate claims about their honey so that they can sell their product for a premium price. Raw, pure honey is a premium product which Nature Nateโ€™s allegedly attempts to capitalize on.

โ€œIn spite of its knowledge regarding the false labeling of its โ€˜100% Rawโ€™ Honey products, Nature Nate continues to sell its Raw Honey at prices it could not hope to receive for processed honey, that is honey that is not 100% raw,โ€ the Nature Nateโ€™s honey class action lawsuit claims.

The Nature Nateโ€™s class action lawsuit alleges that consumers rely on the companyโ€™s representations when purchasing their honey. These consumers allegedly trust that Nature Nateโ€™s will not lie to them and that their advertisements are trustworthy.

However, the alleged false nature of Nature Nateโ€™s honey representations reportedly causes consumers like Pierce to not receive the value of product that they paid for.

โ€œPlaintiff and Class Members relied on Nature Nateโ€™s representations on the Honey bottlesโ€™ labels and on Nature Nateโ€™s website and accepted such representations as being true,โ€ Pierce argues. โ€œHowever, the Honey does not conform to these express representations and, as alleged herein, Nature Nate breached its express representations concerning its Raw Honey.โ€

Pierce seeks to represent a Class of consumers who purchased Nature Nateโ€™s 100% Raw Honey products.

The class action lawsuit seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, equitable relief, declaratory relief, court costs, and attorneysโ€™ fees.

Pierce is represented by Kenneth W. Biermacher of Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC; Kent A. Heitzinger of Kent A. Heitzinger & Associates; and Terrence Buehler of The Law Office of Terrence Buehler.

The Nature Nateโ€™s 100% Raw Honey Class Action Lawsuit is Pierce v. North Dallas Honey Company, Case No. 3:19-cv-00410-B, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Please add me to your class actionโ€ฆ the industry needs to be taught a lesson!

We thought we bought pure honey but after consuming it for some time we noticed how criztalized it became and how nasty it looked. It even smells weird. Canโ€™t believe the bottle says their history began over 40 years ago. Itโ€™s pure garbage and God knows what people have been putting in their bodies by consuming this so called 100 percent unfiltered raw honey. We are sold lies! And pricey ones too! This needs to be labeled differently not 100% pure because itโ€™s not.

The gang mentality displayed here is disturbing. This article, the video commentary and most of the comments assumes the companyโ€™s owner(s) is negligent and dishonest for self-serving financial gain. Why is there an overwhelming presumption of guilt and validation of claims with no validated evidence, no statements from the company and no legal determination of guilt or innocence? How does the plaintiff know that the honey is heated to 120 degrees, and why on earth would she just decide to take a bottle to a lab to have it tested? Who does that, and how do any of us know that the results are legitimate? Is it possible that the plaintiff and the law firm representing her have self-serving motivations, or that they are mistaken in some way. Who stands to receive the most financial gain in a class action lawsuit such as this? The plaintiff filing suit and the lawyers representing her. IF there is a settlement, the Class will get pennies on the dollar, and only only serve to help bolster the payday for the lawyers and named plaintiff. The heartbeat of our countryโ€™s economy is privately held small/medium sized businesses. Nature Nateโ€™s falls in this category and the owner(s) should at least be given the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise. I buy Nature Nateโ€™s Honey regularly, I have followed the company for a number of years, and I find more reasons to trust the company and extend benefit of doubt than to render a guilty verdict based on unsubstantiated claims.

I have zero reasons to trust anyone. Ok so letโ€™s not join the class action suit. Let natureโ€™s nate do whatever they want, right or wrong. Let all businesses do whatever they want. Most already cheat consumers anyway.

We used to run a maple syrup farm. We could easily tell the real deal from tainted syrup โ€” still can. I also keep bees, taste other local keepersโ€™ honeys, etc., etc. Today, Iโ€™m at a house that only has Nature Nateโ€™s honey. I tasted it thinking it would be good because of the labeling. This is not pure honey by a long shot. Itโ€™s had something added that isnโ€™t honey. Even worse โ€“ there is a Bible verse on the label.

      1. Jodi Anderson says:

Hello Pedrito ,. I am curious besides Unfiltered Organic Honey from a beekeepers at a Farmers Market or local Honey Bee Farms , what brand do you recommend if any ??

WHOA!!!! GANG mentality, huh (giggling)?!! FORTUNATELY, in THIS country, we are EACH allowed to THINK, think ABOUT, ??TALK TO ONE ANOTHER about??, & even make DECISIONS based on ANY info (or lack thereof, if WE choose!) &/or anyTHING we desire, & @ the time DESIRED.

TRUST that it will behoove ur Life, health, family, friends, career, & even ur PETS, to give urself over to THE FACT that NONE OF US can control other ppl, & ESPECIALLY not their THINKING (& WHOโ€™d want to?!! CELEBRATE differences, instead & learn to โ€œLIVE HAPPY!โ€ consider THIS: HOW BORING would Life be if we ALL thought, did & believed THE SAME THINGS?!! weโ€™d have NOTHING to talk about & b4 long humans would vanish).

re: WHO HAS PRODUCTS TESTEDโ€ฆโ€ผ๏ธPEOPLE do! especially if they fear theyโ€™re being scammed! have u SERIOUSLY neverrrrr HEARD of a consumer taking a purchased product to BE TESTED? reeeeeeeally? maybe not on the daily, but come ON! itโ€™s not like they have to take it to MARS to do so, silly.
after allโ€ฆTHIS IS AMERICA! NOT Russia! & when WE are lied to/scammed/stolen from, & by an American co., we donโ€™t HAVE TO bend over & take it like in many countries! we fight BACK & while doing so, WE TELL EVERY1 in earshot of the suspected SCAM! we donโ€™t have to WAIT til itโ€™s decided!

are you new here? just wondering!

??consider trying my way for -1- DAY: LIVE HAPPY!! because IT IS A ??CHOICE?? EACH of us IS able to make, IFFFF we WANT to!

SO CHOOSE HAPPY, my friends! i do EVERY day!

I should always go with my instinct. This honey tasted way too sweet, and saw some hardened particles inside, touched it, and it felt like brown sugar.

    1. Konstantin litvinov says:

Most pure raw or unheated honey has a natural tendency to crystallize over time. โ€ฆ The overabundance of sugar makes honey unstable. It is natural for honey to crystallize since it is an over-saturated sugar solution. The two principal sugars in honey are fructose (fruit sugar) and glucose (grape sugar).

  10. Jodi says:

Please add me . very disappointed if this is true about Nature Nateโ€™s Honey !!!
