Post Foods, LLC (“Post”) cereal customers may be eligible to claim about $14 thanks to a $15 million class action Settlement Agreement with the cereal company.

The Class includes anyone in the United States who, between Aug. 29, 2012, and Nov. 2, 2020, purchased the eligible Post cereals for household use and not for resale or distribution.

Class Members submitting a valid claim form are expected to receive an average payment of $14.28. However, the actual amount will depend on the number of claims made and each claimant’s purchase history.

Class Members who submit claims without proof of purchase will be subject to per-product caps based on an average use of four boxes per month.

Claims submitted with proof of purchase will not be capped.

Two Post cereal customers filed the class action lawsuit in 2016 alleging that Post labeled its products with claims that made the products seem healthy when the products contain high added sugar content.

The defendant has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and maintains the claims on its packaging are true.

The Post products covered by the class action Settlement include a variety of package sizes and flavors of Post Bran Flakes, Post Raisin Bran, Honeycomb, Waffle Crisp, Selects, Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Bunches of Oats Granola, Shredded Wheat, Great Grains, Alpha- Bits, and Golden Crisp (the “Class Products”).

In addition to the monetary relief, the company has agreed not to use certain statements on the Class Products’ labels through the end of 2022.

A fairness hearing will be held June 23, 2021.

The deadline to object to or to ask to be excluded from the settlement is May 19, 2021.

Claims must be submitted online or postmarked by May 19, 2021.
