PRESSED JUICERY SETTLEMENT UPDATE:

  • The Court granted final approval to this class action settlement Oct. 8, 2021.
  • Let Top Class Actions know when you receive a check in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.

Consumers who purchased Pressed Juicery’s Greens Juices between 2014 and 2020 may be able to claim up to $10 in compensation without proof of purchase thanks to a class action settlement.

The Class is made up of anyone who purchased Pressed Juicery’s Greens Juices in the United States, its territories, or at any U.S. military facility or exchange between May 1, 2014, and May 19, 2021.

“Greens Juices” means Pressed Juicery’s Greens 2, Greens 3, and Greens 5 juices sold in the United States.

A class action lawsuit claimed Pressed Juicery falsely advertises the Greens Juices as containing green vegetables, such as spinach, as primary ingredients when the first ingredients are actually sugary fruit juices, such as apple or pineapple.

Pressed Juicery makes “farm-to-bottle” cold-pressed juice, according to the company’s website. In addition to juice, the company makes plant-based soft-serve ice cream, smoothies, and other products.

The company has locations in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Texas, and Washington.

The defendant denies all allegations of wrongdoing, and a judge has not ruled in favor of either party in this case. Instead, the parties have agreed to a settlement.

Class Members who submit a valid claim can receive up to $1 per Pressed Juicery Green Juices for up to 10 purchased during the Class Period.

No proof of purchase is required.

The actual amount of each Class Member’s payment will be calculated by taking the number of qualifying purchases claimed by all Class Members and dividing it into the residual settlement amount, which is $695,000 minus service awards, attorneys’ fees, and other costs.

If the resulting number is more than $1, each claimant will receive $1 for up to 10 juices. If it is less than $1, each qualifying Class Member will receive the smaller amount for up to 10 purchases.

Any money remaining in the fund will be returned to Pressed Juices.

In addition to this monetary relief, Pressed Juices has agreed to list ingredients on the front labels of its Green Juices, and elsewhere, to reflect the actual order of predominance of ingredients by volume in the products for at least five years.

For at least four years after the settlement’s effective date, Pressed Juicery’s counsel or a designee will hold annual meetings with the company’s marketing department in order to review and comply with the injunctive terms of the settlement agreement.

A final approval in the Pressed Juicery settlement is scheduled for Oct. 8, 2021.

The deadline to file a claim, to object to or to opt out of the settlement is Aug. 9, 2021.
