Mielle Organics rosemary mint hair care products contain ingredients that cause hair loss and other injuries, a new class action lawsuit alleges.
Plaintiff’s Stephanie Williams, Georgina Gomes and Krista Gillette’s class action lawsuit claims Mielle Organics — owned by The Procter & Gamble Co. — misrepresented the rosemary mint hair care products as safe.
Williams, Gomes and Gillette argue Mielle Organics also failed to disclose the alleged dangers associated with using its rosemary mint hair care products.
“The products contain ingredients that cause and have caused hair loss and other injuries in its users, including plaintiffs and those in the proposed class,” the Mielle Organics class action says.
The plaintiffs want to represent a nationwide class of consumers who purchased Mielle Organics rosemary mint hair care products for personal or household use.
The group also wants to represent subclasses of consumers who purchased the products for personal or household use in the states of California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
Mielle Organics failed to adequately test rosemary mint hair care products, class action claims
Williams, Gomes and Gillette argue Mielle Organics must have failed to adequately test their rosemary mint hair care products, as they would have discovered they contained ingredients that cause hair loss, making them “ineligible for distribution.”
“Accordingly, (Mielle Organics) knowingly, or at least negligently, introduced harmful and/or misbranded Products into the U.S. market,” the class action says.
The plaintiffs claim Mielle Organics and Procter & Gamble are guilty of fraud and unjust enrichment and violating state consumer fraud acts.
They demand a jury trial and request declaratory and injunctive relief and an award of compensatory, statutory and punitive damages for themselves and all class members.
A consumer filed a similar class action lawsuit against Mielle Organics last month over claims the company’s Rosemary Mint Scalp & Strengthening Hair Oil causes hair loss.

I started using Mielle products 2 years ago. I used the Shampoo, and leave-in Conditioner. I started noticing large clumps of hair loss from my scalp. I also noticed severe itching in the scalp area. I’m devastated from this experience because I trusted this product.

I was researching why I have sores on my head and found this. Been using for a while! What the actual hell – stopping use immediately. How do I join the lawsuit?
I used the rosemary hair drop growth oils for roughly 3 months. I started to notice the front of my scalp(full perimeter and hairline) were becoming really itchy. I started to see blisters and red spots that were painful. It caused me to develop dry itchy and a very blistered scalp. I never had these issues prior to using Mielle products. My hair and scalp have always been extremely healthy.
I purchased the rosemary mint hair mask and the second time I used it I had a huge amount of hair come out in the shower! I was flipped out over this, a nervous wreck. Wow! I happened to stop back at Sally Beauty the following day and a different gal working at the store told me about the lawsuit and I told her of my experience and she said please bring those products back and get a refund. They are no good! well, that will be on my agenda the next day that I can get back to the store again. I’m worried sick about washing my hair again and more falling out. I will not use that stuff again I just hope it’s not continuing to cause me an issue! This just happened day before yesterday. And I used the products 3 times over 5 days and the last time I lost a ton of hair just letting loose.
I used Mielle Organics Mint line and my hair which was very long started to fall out in large clumps. I am trying to decided if I should cut it or use protective styles to retain the hair I have left. Its so sad and dreadful how much hair came out in such a short time.
Yes, I’ve purchased the mini packs from the beauty supply store in Detroit, Michigan, and I’ve noticed that my hair was started coming out in clumps. I bagged off of it thinking that it was stress and monitoring what went into my body as well as on my body stop using the BIL products for a year went back to it in October 1925 and my hair is coming out in clumps again I’m definitely sure that it is the rosemary shampoo and conditioner From Meille
My hair fell out really bad and it was like I had sores in my head. I stopped using the rosemary mint drops. My hair is growing pretty good now.
This is exactly the problem I am having
