ford steering wheelA class action lawsuit claims that Ford F-150 trucks, model years 2015 to 2019, have defective steering systems which causes the wheel to pull to the left or the right, leaving the driver to temporarily lose control.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit was filed by Mark Lincoln who says that he noticed the steering problem upon purchasing a 2016 vehicle, and was told that he could bring it back for an alignment which would fix the problem.

Allegedly, Lincoln bought his vehicle back for an alignment on July 9, 2018, but that did not fix the problem. Additionally, he says that he had his tires rebalanced, but that did not solve the problem.

The Ford steering alignment class action goes on to state that after he experienced multiple problems with his 2016 Ford F-150, including “erratic steering and pulling,” Lincoln traded his 2016 vehicle in and purchased a 2017 Ford F-150 vehicle.

He says that he had to pay a $5,000 adjustment for the 2017  vehicle, which had around 27,188 miles on the odometer on the date of purchase.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit claims that when Lincoln purchased the 2017 vehicle, he reviewed the sticker that was placed on the window of the vehicle advertising the vehicle’s features, including equipment, warranty, and crash test ratings.

Allegedly, Lincoln relied on the advertisements on the sticker to make his purchasing decision, noting that the sticker did not disclose that the vehicle suffered from any defects.

According to Lincoln, when he drove the vehicle home, he noticed that it pulled and drifted in both directions. He says that Ford would do a re-alignment free of charge, but that the alignment did not correct the erratic steering.

In the fall, Lincoln complained again about the erratic steering, at which point Ford adjusted the alignment and steering gear assembly, and replaced the shaft seal. However, the problem allegedly persisted.

Lincoln claims that he brought both trucks in for service on multiple occasions but Ford failed to fix the problem. He says that he has faced financial injury trying to fix the problem, including incurring costs related to purchasing his new vehicle, and including lost wages because he had to miss work to try to deal with the vehicle problems.

He says that he and many other customers experienced the steering defect, and were financially injured because of it. Lincoln seeks damages on behalf of himself and all other similarly affected customers.

My 2011 F150 Steering is getting progressively worse. Sticks erratically when turning to the left to the point that I am unable to correct sterrinng. When it sticks while turning to left I can not correct so I turn briefly in direction of turn then back and I can steer. This is quite dangerous and I am taking to be repaired.

2017 F150 eco boost twin turbo. Purchased with 2 miles on the truck. At 30,000 miles my entire steering failed driving about 5-8 mph. Took to dealership, replaced entire Electric Power Steering components, gear box, everything steering was replaced. Problem never came back.,6” BDS suspension lift with 37” nitto grapplers. Drives amazing. Taking back this week to diagnose steering again. No issues but recommended by dealer to just look at at every scheduled service appt. hopefully it’s fine.

I am also having same issue. I have a 2016 Purchased 10/2016, I ddi not feel issue until maybe 2 years, felt strange and only happened once, then again about 6-8 months later. Now on 9/19/2020 It doesn’t stop and got worse I am afraid to drive it. I have to have it looked at but cannot afford since I haven’t worked in awhile and about to start a new job I need this truck running correctly. I live in Florida, have 50,000 on truck, Never had any accidents or off the road to have caused this type of issue. this is a F150 5.0 2 wheel drive vehicle. I spent some good money on it and was hoping to have this truck for many years.

So I’m purchasing a pre-owned 2015 Ford f-150 from my local dealer. This was in 2017. The vehicle had 12,000 miles or so when purchased. Just like all the other comments. I am also experiencing a very dangerous steering issue. My trucks steering will stick when driving. Any slight steering to the left it sticks and needs to manually be directed back to straight steering . If I let go of steering wheel while this is happening. The truck stays in the locked up position snd veers to the left. I had it looked at at the local dealer. They said they fixed the issue it was the elignment. Something to do with programming!. As soon as began to drive home from dealer I noticed they didn’t fix it. So I drive back to the dealer and actually took a tech out to see if he can see what I was talking about. Unfortunately he said he felt nothing and had a nasty attitude etc, etc. Now the manager says to me bring it back Monday and we will look at it. After seeing that they were incompetent I refused to leave my truck and asked for a refund. They gave me the runaround for over 2 months. Managers dodging calls etc. Finally I call ford to try and get a refund. They said I had to go directly to the dealer for that. The only thing they could do is right a report. After going back and fourth several times with the manager. I finally get a check in the mail. For 65.00. I didnt get the entire amount of 106.00 deductible. This is a very serious issue and very dangerous! I believe they know about it and won’t recall the vehicle because they either don’t know how to fix the issue and or the cost of such a big problem. So to say the least. Im very upset that I risk my and my families life everyday in this vehicle. Please add me to the class action suit.
