ford steering wheelA class action lawsuit claims that Ford F-150 trucks, model years 2015 to 2019, have defective steering systems which causes the wheel to pull to the left or the right, leaving the driver to temporarily lose control.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit was filed by Mark Lincoln who says that he noticed the steering problem upon purchasing a 2016 vehicle, and was told that he could bring it back for an alignment which would fix the problem.

Allegedly, Lincoln bought his vehicle back for an alignment on July 9, 2018, but that did not fix the problem. Additionally, he says that he had his tires rebalanced, but that did not solve the problem.

The Ford steering alignment class action goes on to state that after he experienced multiple problems with his 2016 Ford F-150, including “erratic steering and pulling,” Lincoln traded his 2016 vehicle in and purchased a 2017 Ford F-150 vehicle.

He says that he had to pay a $5,000 adjustment for the 2017  vehicle, which had around 27,188 miles on the odometer on the date of purchase.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit claims that when Lincoln purchased the 2017 vehicle, he reviewed the sticker that was placed on the window of the vehicle advertising the vehicle’s features, including equipment, warranty, and crash test ratings.

Allegedly, Lincoln relied on the advertisements on the sticker to make his purchasing decision, noting that the sticker did not disclose that the vehicle suffered from any defects.

According to Lincoln, when he drove the vehicle home, he noticed that it pulled and drifted in both directions. He says that Ford would do a re-alignment free of charge, but that the alignment did not correct the erratic steering.

In the fall, Lincoln complained again about the erratic steering, at which point Ford adjusted the alignment and steering gear assembly, and replaced the shaft seal. However, the problem allegedly persisted.

Lincoln claims that he brought both trucks in for service on multiple occasions but Ford failed to fix the problem. He says that he has faced financial injury trying to fix the problem, including incurring costs related to purchasing his new vehicle, and including lost wages because he had to miss work to try to deal with the vehicle problems.

He says that he and many other customers experienced the steering defect, and were financially injured because of it. Lincoln seeks damages on behalf of himself and all other similarly affected customers.

2019 F150, any slight bump, turn or slightest pressure on steering wheel and it goes crazy. Pulls to left all the time, Ford says its the tires and need rotating, which has been done at least 3 times in the last 6 months. Feels like im driving on ice. Have to keep pressure to the right on the steering wheel. I am sooo done with my dealer AND Ford! They need to fix this crap ASAP!!

I took my son’s 2017 Ford F150 truck into Ford a couple of years ago for issues with steering. He was experiencing issues with the steering wheel slipping, pulling left and right and becoming very hard to turn. They said there was nothing wrong. The issues continued periodically and it has become unsafe to drive. Now the parts are on back order and the truck has been sitting at the dealership for 6 weeks. There needs to be a recall.

I have a 2019 ford f150 I bought a year old almost. I have had it in the local shop numerous times for the issues with it. My steering does this exact same thing and pulls you to the left sometimes and sometimes to the right and its awful to keep straight on the road. Noone will fix it or find the problem.

I have a 2013 Ford Explorer and my wife complains about the steering sticking when driving on counrty roads (curvey roads). It sticks turning left and right.

I dropped my 2017 F150 off at the dealership in Danville KY, last night 10/24/2022. I am currently having issues with the steering system, loss of power steering and a number of other fault codes. I have had to replace the hub bearings a few time due to uneven tire wear and the truck driffting from left to right or right to lift while driving. After replacing the hubs, the driffting still happens, which I thought was due to the road surface and the ruts caused by traffic. Since the steering is now in default, I assume this is a issue related to the known steering defect known by Ford

2018 f150 ecoboost. Sticks to the left sometimes. Doesn’t return to center sometimes. I believe it’s the intermediate shaft failing.
