ford steering wheelA class action lawsuit claims that Ford F-150 trucks, model years 2015 to 2019, have defective steering systems which causes the wheel to pull to the left or the right, leaving the driver to temporarily lose control.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit was filed by Mark Lincoln who says that he noticed the steering problem upon purchasing a 2016 vehicle, and was told that he could bring it back for an alignment which would fix the problem.

Allegedly, Lincoln bought his vehicle back for an alignment on July 9, 2018, but that did not fix the problem. Additionally, he says that he had his tires rebalanced, but that did not solve the problem.

The Ford steering alignment class action goes on to state that after he experienced multiple problems with his 2016 Ford F-150, including “erratic steering and pulling,” Lincoln traded his 2016 vehicle in and purchased a 2017 Ford F-150 vehicle.

He says that he had to pay a $5,000 adjustment for the 2017  vehicle, which had around 27,188 miles on the odometer on the date of purchase.

The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit claims that when Lincoln purchased the 2017 vehicle, he reviewed the sticker that was placed on the window of the vehicle advertising the vehicle’s features, including equipment, warranty, and crash test ratings.

Allegedly, Lincoln relied on the advertisements on the sticker to make his purchasing decision, noting that the sticker did not disclose that the vehicle suffered from any defects.

According to Lincoln, when he drove the vehicle home, he noticed that it pulled and drifted in both directions. He says that Ford would do a re-alignment free of charge, but that the alignment did not correct the erratic steering.

In the fall, Lincoln complained again about the erratic steering, at which point Ford adjusted the alignment and steering gear assembly, and replaced the shaft seal. However, the problem allegedly persisted.

Lincoln claims that he brought both trucks in for service on multiple occasions but Ford failed to fix the problem. He says that he has faced financial injury trying to fix the problem, including incurring costs related to purchasing his new vehicle, and including lost wages because he had to miss work to try to deal with the vehicle problems.

He says that he and many other customers experienced the steering defect, and were financially injured because of it. Lincoln seeks damages on behalf of himself and all other similarly affected customers.

Yes I do have the same issue. My new 2018 F 150 since new pull to the Left. I took it to the dealer multiple times, they made multiples alignments change some kind of censors rotate the tires back and forward left and right, replace the steering shaft and still doing the same. Pull hard to the left 90% of the time and 10% to the right. I took the truck for multiples rides with the service manager of 2 different dealerships and one occasion with the general manager of the dealership. They both agree that was a problem and will do anything to correct it but not such luck. This problem occur more when driving at slow speed under 50 mph. Very annoying and dangerous and unsafe.
During a long trip by the time you get to your destination your arm, hand and fingers are so stressed and tired that I need to take some pain relievers. my wife and daughters refuse to drive it. This is my 6 vehicle new that i had purchased from the Ford Corporation. I am looking at purchasing a different brand of pick up truck.

Did that fix the issues? I just picked up a 2015 F150 4×4 with 86k and pulls left. Brought to Ford dealer I purchased from and they state no issues. Alignment is good etc. Sometimes the pull is strong and other times not so much.

2018 f150. Problem started vefore 7k miles. Dealership replaced wheel bearing. Woohoo, didnt fix the problem. Long story short, im at 46k miles, ive had 11 alignments and been thru three sets of tires. 4 dealerships. 1000 lies. And there was even a buyback initiated that was canceled when they claimed i had defective tires. Come on… 12.. TWELVE DEFECTIVE TIRES IN A ROW,,, ya sorry.

We bought this truck as lifelong ford customers with over 100 years of family history with ford motor company. My great grandfather John Callavo started the Oriole bus lines in Pittsburgh Pa in 1919. That is now the Pittsburgh public transit system.

With such rich family history with the ford motor company, dodge brothers, and the likes, it pains me greatly knowing that ford motor company knows of this problem, yet treats its customers this way, and its dealerships manipulate customers in such a manner, all while denying its existance.

This is wrong. 50k for a brand bew truck, and 100 yrs of faithful customer history,,,, and i cant even put my two kids in it it. I just cant. This truck is all over the road. This is not fair to me, or my family. I am not just a disgruntled ford owner, i am 5th generation ford faithful, and that has now ended, because of one stoopid issue they refuse to fix.

Ford has stabbed us in the back in favor of profits for modern ceos. And Henry himself, is rolling in his grave. This is not the company he built. Its not the company it was 20 years ago. 46k miles, 11 alignments, 3 sets of tires, 14 trips to the dealership. 6 rental cars. Do the math… how much did i get screwed out of here…. in 2 years time of owning a brand new truck. And i have been lied to by ford corporate headquarters themselves.. lied to my face. Ford lost 100 years of dedicated customers today. And i am truely saddened

I have a 2016 ford f-150 …and we are also having issues with the power steering … we drive it and on occasion it seems as if it loses the power steering for a second and you have to jerk it back to straight. . Its scary and not ok .. this will eventually cause an accident… and if it’s me I will sue the shit out of Ford !!! …. as everyone should…. we have taken it in a couple times and they keep saying all is fine … and its not ?

  8. Richard Taves says:

Had my 2016 F-150 aligned. Now the steering wheel is (most of the time) at 11:00. Shop says alignment is perfect after redoing it. They can’t explain why the steering randomly shifts to the left.

    1. Scott Eddleman says:

Had to replace the front steering assembly on my 2017f150 with 39000 miles on it. Ford paid a portion but I had to pay a majority of it.

2016 F150 4×4. 72,000 miles. Similar issues. Steering wheel won’t re-enter after you turn. Feeks notchy when you turn. Very stiff turning at times.
    Not safe…

  10. Angel R Reyes says:

I own a 2013 and mine did the same until it failed while driving on the freeway
