A class action lawsuit claims that Ford F-150 trucks, model years 2015 to 2019, have defective steering systems which causes the wheel to pull to the left or the right, leaving the driver to temporarily lose control.
The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit was filed by Mark Lincoln who says that he noticed the steering problem upon purchasing a 2016 vehicle, and was told that he could bring it back for an alignment which would fix the problem.
Allegedly, Lincoln bought his vehicle back for an alignment on July 9, 2018, but that did not fix the problem. Additionally, he says that he had his tires rebalanced, but that did not solve the problem.
The Ford steering alignment class action goes on to state that after he experienced multiple problems with his 2016 Ford F-150, including “erratic steering and pulling,” Lincoln traded his 2016 vehicle in and purchased a 2017 Ford F-150 vehicle.
He says that he had to pay a $5,000 adjustment for the 2017 vehicle, which had around 27,188 miles on the odometer on the date of purchase.
The Ford F-150 class action lawsuit claims that when Lincoln purchased the 2017 vehicle, he reviewed the sticker that was placed on the window of the vehicle advertising the vehicle’s features, including equipment, warranty, and crash test ratings.
Allegedly, Lincoln relied on the advertisements on the sticker to make his purchasing decision, noting that the sticker did not disclose that the vehicle suffered from any defects.
According to Lincoln, when he drove the vehicle home, he noticed that it pulled and drifted in both directions. He says that Ford would do a re-alignment free of charge, but that the alignment did not correct the erratic steering.
In the fall, Lincoln complained again about the erratic steering, at which point Ford adjusted the alignment and steering gear assembly, and replaced the shaft seal. However, the problem allegedly persisted.
Lincoln claims that he brought both trucks in for service on multiple occasions but Ford failed to fix the problem. He says that he has faced financial injury trying to fix the problem, including incurring costs related to purchasing his new vehicle, and including lost wages because he had to miss work to try to deal with the vehicle problems.
He says that he and many other customers experienced the steering defect, and were financially injured because of it. Lincoln seeks damages on behalf of himself and all other similarly affected customers.

2016 Ford f150 powering steering went out while driving thankfully no one was hurt
Hell. I’ve got a fun one. So when my 2017 f150 re starts after the start stop cycle , if you turn as it is starting like I was when a big rig was on a collision course with my truck. The power steering does not return for up to 30 sec but only when you are trying to turn as it’s starting. Dealer is at a loss.
i have a 2019 F150, and the steering sticks when i turn/go around a curve at about 45 degrees to the left. Ford dealer continues to claim nothing is wrong, but multiple people have driven it and questioned me about it. so glad to know that it’s not me, but i do want some answers, especially since i took it to the dealer before the warranty was expired, and now it is out of warranty.
Similar issues with steering in my 2015 Lariat. Almost feels like a sticking or that the lane assist is fighting against me any time I turn even slightly.
I Have a 2017 F150 that has steering issues as well
My truck is currently at the dealership waiting to be fixed. My power steering went out while I was driving my car and I hit a tree.
The dealership wants $3500 to fix it and I’m on disability and do not have that kind of money
With all of these problems, why won’t this be covered?
I own a 2016 F-150 Lariat. Driving in town between 20 mph and 55 mph, no problems. Once I get on the highway, after about an hour of driving, I must steer with both hands on the steering wheel, white knuckles, to keep the vehicle in the lane. If a police officer should pull up behind me and observe my driving, he’d probably pull me over and test me for alcohol content, because I tend to bounce side-to-side in my lane. As far as I can tell, there is a large class of people who are having issues with Ford’s EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering). I spoke with a mechanic who advised me that I’d spend more than $4,000.00 to have the problem fixed.
My 2012 Ford F150 Supercab has intermittent power steering loss, usually when it is driven for m ore than an hour but can occur on small trips too. Take it to the garage and they don’t see it? It also has an associated traction control failure warning too. Very frustrating went from loving my truck to hating it.
Water gets into my steering rack and freezes witch causes me to lose steering in cold temperatures. Ford wants $3500.00 to fix this but to me it’s seems like a faulty part and not a wear and tear problem. They said they can’t help me on this.
My steering is sticking and jerking when turning and has a noise when turning to the left.
