A $17 million class action settlement has been reached that guarantees a monetary payment for over 360,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles purchased or leased between 2010 and August 2013 that came equipped with a MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch infotainment system.

If you purchased or leased a Ford or Lincoln vehicle in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia or Washington that was equipped with MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch from a Ford or Lincoln dealer prior to Aug. 9, 2013, you could get up to $400 from this settlement.

According to the MyFord Touch class action lawsuit, car owners and lessees purchased their vehicles with the infotainment touch screens with the expectation of climate and navigation control, as well as the ability to play music and make calls from their mobile devices. Ford denies these allegations.

The parties reached a settlement in November 2018 and the settlement received preliminary approval in March 2019.

Under the terms of the Ford class action settlement, Class Members who had their MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch repaired once can file a claim for $100. Class Members who sought repairs to the system twice will receive $250 and those who had it repaired three or more times can get $400.

And those Ford and Lincoln car owners and lessees who have had no repairs, can still submit a claim for being unsatisfied with their infotainment touch screen and will receive $45.

To make a claim in the MyFord Touch class action settlement, Class Members can either submit a Claim Form online or submit a claim by mail.

The deadline for Class Members to object to or opt out of the settlement is Sept. 20, 2019.

The MyFord Touch class action settlement also provides $55 for Class Members who received software repairs on their touch screens but did not submit a Claim Form before the Sept. 24, 2019 deadline. In addition, all owners and lessees of Class Vehicles who didn’t get a software repair and didn’t file a claim in this settlement will still receive $20 from this settlement.

  • Virginia
  • Washington
Potential Award

Up to $400.

Each Class Member’s award will depend on the number of software repairs and post warranty repair costs. Those who had their MyFord Touch repaired once, can receive $100; those who had two repairs, can claim $250; and those who had their MyFord Touch repaired three or more times may receive $400.

Class Members who did not have any repairs, but still experienced unsatisfactory performance of their MyTouch can claim up to $45.

Class Members who have received notice via e-mail or a postcard in the mail will be able to look up the eligible repairs associated with their vehicles on the settlement website. Class Members who have not yet received their Claimant ID and PIN, or are unsure if they are eligible, are encouraged to contact the settlement administrator at 1-833-402-1732.
