Zazzle agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it deceptively advertised discounts on its products.
The Zazzle settlement benefits consumers who, while in the states of California or Washington, purchased one or more products at a purported discount from Zazzle.com between July 1, 2020, and Sept. 25, 2023, or who, while in the state of Oregon, purchased one or more products at a purported discount from Zazzle.com between July 1, 2023, and Sept. 25, 2023.
Zazzle is an online marketplace that allows consumers to purchase products with their own designs or designs from independent creators.
According to the class action lawsuit, Zazzle deceptively advertised discounts by listing products with inflated “regular” prices that were never actually charged. The plaintiff alleges the items were always sold at discounted rates.
The plaintiff says she and other consumers were misled by Zazzle’s false advertising and tricked into purchasing products from the company.
Zazzle has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Zazzle settlement, class members can receive settlement vouchers. All class members will receive a $5 settlement voucher. Class members who spent more than $35 on discounted Zazzle.com goods during the class period will receive an additional $5 voucher, for a total of $10 in settlement vouchers.
Class members who use their settlement vouchers will also receive a one-month free membership of Zazzle Plus. This membership includes free shipping on the class member’s purchase and unlimited free shipping on other Zazzle purchases during the duration of the membership.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 28, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the Zazzle settlement is scheduled for June 27, 2025.
No claim form is required to benefit from the settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive settlement benefits.
