Piatti Restaurants Wage and Hour Class Action Settlement

Moana Hotel and Restaurant Group LLC and Piatti Restaurant Company LP have agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging they violated California wage and hour laws. If you are a current or former non-exempt employee who worked at a Piatti restaurant in California between May 14, 2004 and May 9, 2015, you may entitled to compensation from the class action settlement.

The proposed wage and hour class action settlement will resolve allegations the restaurant companies violated California labor laws by failing to provide legally required meal periods and paid rest breaks; failing to pay overtime and minimum wages; failing to pay wages due at termination of employment; failing to provide accurate itemized wage statements; and failing to reimburse employees for necessary uniform expenses.

The defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the risk and expense of ongoing litigation. Under the terms of the wage and hour settlement, the companies will pay a total of $2.5 million to resolve the class action lawsuit.

Class Members who wish to object to or opt out of the Piatti settlement must do so no later than Jan. 8, 2016.

Class Members of the Piatti settlement include all current and former non-exempt employees who were employed at a Piatti restaurant location in California at any time between May 14, 2004 and May 9, 2015.
