Mazda agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that its Mazda Connect infotainment system is defective and causes technical glitches.

The Mazda Connect class action settlement benefits current and former owners and lessees of Mazda2 (2016-2022), Mazda3 (2014-2018), Mazda6 (2016-2021), Mazda CX-3 (2016-2021), Mazda CX-5 (2016-2020), Mazda CX-9 (2016-2020) and Mazda MX-5 (2016-2023) vehicles.

Mazda vehicles are equipped with the Mazda Connect infotainment system, which allows drivers to access navigation, music, phone calls and other features.

According to the Mazda Connect class action lawsuit, the Mazda Connect infotainment system is defective and causes drivers to experience technical glitches. These glitches allegedly cause the system to reboot, freeze, become unresponsive, get stuck in a bootloop and trigger audio and video errors.

Mazda has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to resolve the claims with a class action settlement.

Under the terms of the Mazda Connect class action settlement, class members can receive a 24-month limited warranty extension for Mazda vehicles. This extension covers software updates, repairs and replacements of the connectivity master unit.

The settlement also provides reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses related to the Mazda Connect infotainment system.

Class members can receive reimbursement for software updates, repairs or replacements of the connectivity master unit, SD card, display and rear-view camera. Reimbursement is capped at $1,750 per vehicle.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 2, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the Mazda Connect infotainment settlement is scheduled for July 28, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 1, 2025.

I have a 2016 Mazda 3. Took it to Pasco Mazda, and they promptly told me that I had to BUY A NEW GPS CARD. It’s almost $500, and I haven’t worked in 2.5 years. So much to the lawsuit. Doesn’t help me a bit

  2. Jennifer Vergara says:

Hi, I want to know master dealer because my radio has a ghost touch and other issues with it. Turns off on its own turns up the volume and they did not want to do anything about it. I need more help on this matter. Please advise thank you.

  3. Linda Clauson says:

I have a Mazda CX-5 2021 and I am having issues with my infotainment system. I had an appointment on 06/28 and staff told me they had to document the issues. It disconnects all the time, sometimes switches from “always enable” to “never enable” randomly. I’ve had this problem for months. I changed my cord once and then the problems continued. I’ve been to Mazda 2 times for this issue.
Why is my car year not included in this lawsuit?
