FCA US LLC agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that 2017 and 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles were equipped with defective rear power sliding doors.
The Dodge Grand Caravan class action settlement benefits individuals who purchased or leased a Dodge Grand Caravan built between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2017.
According to the class action lawsuit, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles were equipped with rear power sliding doors that had defective lock actuators and/or door latches. This defect allegedly caused the vehicles’ lock actuators and/or door latches to mechanically fail and lose locking and unlocking capability.
FCA US is an automotive manufacturer that produces vehicles under the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat brands.
FCA US has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the sliding door latch class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Dodge Grand Caravan class action settlement, class members can receive a warranty extension that covers the cost of parts and labor needed to repair a condition caused by a failing sliding door lock actuator. This warranty extension lasts for 10 years from the in-service date of the vehicle or 100,000 miles driven, whichever comes first.
Class members who already paid for repairs related to the sliding door latch defect can receive reimbursement for these costs.
The deadline for exclusion is Aug. 14, 2025, while the deadline for objection is July 15, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the Dodge Grand Caravan class action settlement is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2025.
Class members who wish to receive reimbursement for repairs must submit a valid claim form.

2019 have auto door sensors that are defective.
Dodge charged me over 700 dollars for plastic pieces on either side of windows .Parts removed to replace actuator.. Not reusable so charged for new parts. After many complaints they only charged me 260 dollars. They should pày if it was removed to get to actuàtor. This happened last week.
My 2016 Dodge Caravan does EXACTLY this same thing… Any chance that the 2016 model year might be included in this claim also…?
I have contacted Dodge ,FCA,NHTSA, and more its crazy to think that no one thinks 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission should be recalled or offer some compensation !
I have all service records, tranny flush when advised with filter! At Dodge dealership! And with in 11,035 miles of that tranny flush it needs a tranny!
I will continue to write and complain about this!
