AUS Inc. agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2022 data breach that compromised consumer data.

The AUS settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notification informing them their full names and other personal identifying information were potentially accessed during the AUS data breach on Nov. 28, 2022.

A class action lawsuit against AUS claims the company failed to prevent the data breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures.

AUS is a global company that provides security, investigations and risk-consulting services.

AUS hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the AUS settlement, class members can receive a cash payment for lost time and ordinary losses incurred as a result of the data breach.

Class members can claim up to $400 in reimbursement for ordinary losses, such as unreimbursed bank fees, communication charges, credit expenses and other documented losses. Under this $400 cap, class members can also claim up to four hours of lost time at a rate of $30 per hour for a maximum lost-time payment of $120.

Class members who experienced extraordinary losses as a result of the data breach can receive additional payments of up to $4,500. Extraordinary losses include identity theft, fraud and other documented monetary losses.

In addition to reimbursement payments, the settlement also provides two years of free credit-monitoring services. These services include credit monitoring, dark web monitoring and identity theft insurance of up to $1 million.

Class members who did not experience lost time or losses as a result of the data breach can still receive settlement benefits. Instead of receiving credit monitoring, lost time and lost payments, class members can receive a cash payment of $115.

The deadline for exclusion and objection was Jan. 27, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the AUS data breach settlement is scheduled for March 3, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Feb. 25, 2025.

There’s an obvious identity theft case on my credit report They claim a default in a million dollar home loan according to Experian. I haven’t taken any home loan. I’m not building a million dollar house I asked Experian what bank loaned me a million dollars and what bank was it deposited in because I don’t have that information. Their reply was that it looks like identity theft. I attempted to get an updated report and was told they could not send a report at that time. I attempted to have this cleared from my credit report and was notified by the fraud department at the bank where my debit card number was ran , that it was flagged as a fraudulent company/ organization

I’m new at this, don’t know where to go to ask WHY or how can they take pain medication away to people that are on disability because of pain, I have osteoarthritis so bad doc tell me I don’t have to fall to break something, I have 16 deteriorating disk, 2 herniated disk with narrowing , scoliosis, bone on bone knees both knee’s, hips, neck, I had back surgery in Oct, and need knee surgery in a couple months, I barely get out house bound, can’t do anything enjoyable because of my pain, yes I understand there people out there that abuse opiate, but some of us need it so it doesn’t hurt to stand at the stove to cook mac n cheese, hurts to much to even eat at times, shouldn’t government have have pharmaceutical make something better before taking away people or subject that really need it. Yes again there has been people die taking opiates, most of them are street drugs, I bet if the president or the higher-ups was in pain, they could get opiates. There’s pills you take to much that can kill you, even Tylenol was taking off market, even if someone drink to much water at one time can die, someone stops eating can die, please bring back pain medication, one time doc who was a good dr,( not in practicing now) gave me adviol 1800 mg equaling throughout day ,ended up at Er, with whole in stomach throwing up blood & stool (she isn’t practicing, sorry for misspelled words. I don’t care to much pain to correct anything in my life, sometimes it even hurts to breath. Can you sue the government?? Not carrying for his subjects or people, how and what would they do if they where in pain like 1000s out there, that are the same or even worse, thought they were suppose to help us, this isn’t help. It’s dictating what individuals can do with there life, like No one can drink coffee or soda anymore, there bad for you, drink to much can make you sick.
