All Nippon Airways has agreed to pay $58 million to resolve airline price-fixing class action claims that they artificially increased ticket prices.
The airline price-fixing settlement will benefit individuals who took an All Nippon Airways (ANA) or Japan Airlines (JAL) flight from the U.S. to Asia or Oceania between Jan. 1, 2000 and Dec. 1, 2016.
The settlement resolves claims that ANA and JAL were involved in a massive airline price-fixing scheme that included 13 airlines. Other airlines already settled in 2015 and 2018, but ANA is only now settling claims against them.
According to the airline price-fixing class action, ANA and JAL conspired to institute and raise the price of fuel surcharges – resulting in artificially high airline ticket prices. This alleged fuel surcharge price-fixing occurred between Feb. 1, 2005 and Dec. 31, 2007, according to airline price-fixing class action lawsuit.
ANA and JAL were also accused of fixing the price of “satogaeri” or “homecoming” fares between Jan. 1, 2010 and April 1, 2006. These flights are for Japanese people living in the U.S. and returning to Japan. The flight tickets are typically offered at discounted rates.
Under the settlement, Class Members may be able to collect around $5 per eligible ticket included in their claim. To receive payment, Class Members must file their valid Claim Form by Feb. 15, 2020.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 13, 2019. The final approval hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2019.

Anyone notice the official website for Transpacific Air Settlement is down?
Anyone notice or know why the official website for Transpacific Air Settlement is down? Anyone have an update?
I never saw any place what it was stated what each different airline ticket was going to pay in the settlement when the claim process was going on. Nothing was disclosed until after the claim process had already closed and they were in the distribution phase. Am I right about this?
I know the settlement is closed
but I don’t read and follow directions
so I’ll be like the others who type in
