An Acrisure settlement resolves claims the company failed to protect consumer data from a 2022 data breach.
The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information the Acrisure data breach compromised in December 2022.
According to the data breach class action lawsuit, Acrisure failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures that could have protected consumer information in a December 2022 cyberattack. Plaintiffs in the case argue this data breach compromised sensitive personal information that left them open to financial harm.
Acrisure is a financial technology and insurance brokerage company with $4.3 billion in revenue.
Acrisure hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Acrisure settlement, class members can receive up to $4,000 in reimbursement for data breach-related losses. This may include damages from fraud or identity theft, professional fees, credit expenses and communication expenses and up to four hours of lost time compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.
Class members are also eligible to receive two years of one-bureau credit monitoring and identity protection services.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 15, 2024.

Add me
I was a victim of this data breach.
As a result of online gambling I was scammed out of nearly $7000 bc the site I used either sold or used themselves my phone number to initiate an employment scam. It was very well done on their end. I’ve suffered more than expected due to this situation. Wondering if anyone has claimed the same. I tried filing with the FTC but never heard back, one attorney said I didn’t lose enough money for their preference. It wasn’t right what they did.
