A settlement has been proposed in a class action lawsuit against Health Net of California Inc. and Health Net Life Insurance Company alleging that Health Net misrepresented which medical providers were participating in its individual and family plans’ networks.
According to the class action lawsuit, Health Net made misleading representations and omissions to consumers regarding the provider networks available under Affordable Care Act plans.
The plaintiffs accused Health Net of luring customers in with a “bait and switch” scam that hid their inadequate physician and hospital networks. The plaintiffs also say that the insurance company mishandled the administration of the health plans.
Under the terms of the Health Net class action settlement, Health Net admits no wrongdoing, but has agreed to pay for out-of-pocket expenses for Class Members who were charged at the Out-of-Network rates for health care services they believed were In-Network in 2014.
The deadline to opt-out of the class action settlement is June 25, 2018.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members include those who were “enrolled in a Health Net individual and family PPO plan in 2014 and obtained services from an out-of-network medical professional, claims for which were previously submitted to Health Net by you or the out-of-network medical professional. The settlement only applies to PPO plans purchased by individuals and families for 2014, not employer-provided health plans.”
Potential Award
Varies.
Those who submit a Claim Form will be able to receive 100 percent reimbursement for any out-of-pocket expenses paid in 2014.
Proof of Purchase
Documentation of the medical service provided and the amount paid and/or a bill or collection notice for medical bills that are unpaid.

How do u know if I am entitled to money from the health net class action litigation
Add me they are still doing this in California with Tricare patients. Changed my primate care without my knowledge or permission. Went and saw my primate and they would put through a referral because they changed my primary. Wants me to pay to see another doctor for the same thing I saw my primary for.
