Dameron Hospital agreed to a $650,000 class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims around its alleged failure to adequately safeguard patient information in a December 2023 data breach.
The Dameron Hospital data breach class action settlement benefits individuals identified as impacted by the incident, including all who were sent a notice of the breach.
Dameron Hospital is a 200-bed hospital in Stockton, California, that offers a wide range of services and emergency care. The hospital fell victim to a sophisticated RansomeHouse attack.
Dameron Hospital has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $650,000 to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the Dameron Hospital data breach class action settlement, class members can receive up to $5,000 for a wide range of unreimbursed data breach losses and 12 months of three-bureau Credit Monitoring Services.
Alternatively, members can make $50 cash payment instead of credit monitoring and reimbursement, while California subclass members may make a similar settlement claim for $100. These payments may vary depending on the number of claims filed.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is March 24, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the Dameron Hospital data breach settlement is scheduled for May 29, 2025.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 22, 2025.
