iPad Data Plan class action settlement

Details on how to file a claim for the Apple and AT&T iPad unlimited data plan class action settlement are now available. If you purchased or ordered an iPad 3G on or before June 7, 2010, you may be eligible to receive a cash payment from Apple.

The iPad unlimited data settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit (Weisblatt v. Apple Inc., et al.) that claimed customers who purchased or ordered an iPad 3G on or before June 7, 2010 were not provided access to an “unlimited” data plan as originally advertised by Apple and AT&T.

Apple and AT&T deny all allegations but have agreed to settle the iPad class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of litigation. The class action settlement will provide a cash payment from Apple and a data plan benefit from AT&T for eligible Class Members. To qualify for the data plan benefit, Class Members must not have signed up for any AT&T 3G data plan for the iPad.

The only way to get a cash payment or data plan benefit is to submit a valid Claim Form postmarked no later than February 3, 2014. Detailed claims filing instructions are provided below.
