A $500,000 class action settlement has been reached with Squishable.com Inc. over a 2022 data breach that compromised customers’ sensitive personal information.
The Squishable class action settlement is open to individuals who had their private information compromised and received a Notice Letter of the Data Incident.
The class action lawsuit alleges that Squishable.com Inc. failed to adequately protect customers’ personal information, resulting in a data breach that exposed sensitive information. The incident took place between May 26, 2022, and Oct. 12, 2022, during which an unauthorized third party gained access to certain files containing sensitive personal information of customers and website visitors.
Squishable.com is a toy company that makes giant, round stuffed animals, food and other plush creations.
The company denies any wrongdoing and liability but has agreed to settle the Squishable data breach lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Squishable class action settlement, class members who submit a claim can receive reimbursement of actual, documented, unreimbursed ordinary losses resulting from the Squishable data breach, including time spent addressing issues related to the incident (up to $200 in total). This includes various unreimbursed fees and charges, professional fees, costs associated with freezing or unfreezing credit, credit monitoring costs, and miscellaneous expenses directly related to and incurred as a result of the data breach.
Additionally, class members can receive compensation for verified and documented instances of fraud (up to $2,500 in total). Eligible California residents can receive up to $100.
As part of the Squishable class action settlement, the company also agrees to undertake certain reasonable steps to further secure its systems and environments.
The deadline for exclusion and selection is Nov. 19, 2024.
The final approval hearing is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2025.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form on or before Nov. 19, 2024.

Customers and website visitors who had their private information compromised in connection with the Squishable data breach that occurred between May 26, 2022, and Oct. 12, 2022, and received a Notice Letter of the Data Incident.
