A $3 million Cintas settlement resolves claims that the company failed to disclose wage scales or salary ranges in job postings in violation of Washington law.
The settlement benefits workers who applied for a job opening in Washington with Cintas Corporation, Cintas Corporation No. 2 or Cintas Corporation No. 3 since Jan. 1, 2023, where the job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range for the position.
According to the class action lawsuit, Cintas’ job postings for open positions in Washington did not disclose the wage scales or salary ranges of the positions. These listings allegedly violated Washington law which requires specific information to be included with job postings.
Cintas is a corporate uniform and workwear provider.
Cintas hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay up to $3 million to resolve the job listing class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Cintas settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the settlement fund. Payment amounts will vary depending on the number of claims filed. No payment estimates are available at this time.
Payments from the job posting settlement will be treated as non-wage damages and interest and will be subject to a 1099 tax form. Class members may wish to discuss with a professional regarding the tax consequences of accepting a settlement payment.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 4, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Dec. 13, 2024.
To receive Cintas settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 4, 2024.
