A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit that alleges Crothall Healthcare Inc. failed to provide legally compliant wage statements in violation of California law. If you worked as an hourly paid employee for Crothall Healthcare Inc. in California from Oct. 14, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2014, you may be entitled to a cash payment from the class action settlement.
The class action lawsuit was initially filed by plaintiff Elba Mendizabal on Oct. 15, 2014 and accused Crothall of engaging in unfair business practices. The plaintiff sought recovery of penalties and attorneys’ fees and costs. By filing the Crothall class action lawsuit, Mendizabal sought to represent herself and a Class of other current and former hourly paid employees who worked for Crothall Healthcare in California.
Crothall denies the allegations and maintains that it did not violate the law. However, it agreed to pay $925,000 to settle the class action lawsuit and to avoid the expense and uncertainty associated with ongoing litigation.
