Claire’s agreed to pay up to $1,032,000 to resolve claims it failed to disclose wage scales and salary ranges in job postings for open positions in Washington.

The Claire’s class action settlement benefits individuals who applied for a job opening with Claire’s in Washington between Jan. 1, 2023, and April 9, 2025, where the job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range for the position.

According to the Claire’s wage scale class action lawsuit, Claire’s violated Washington law by failing to disclose wage scales and salary ranges in job postings. This practice allegedly violated Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act.

Claire’s is a jewelry and accessories retailer with locations around the country.

Claire’s has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1,032,000 class action settlement to resolve the job posting allegations.

Under the terms of the Claire’s class action settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of participating class members. According to the settlement website, each class member is estimated to receive $1,322.79.

Payments will be classified as non-wage damages and interest for tax purposes. Class members may be required to issue a 1099 form to the Internal Revenue Service.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 22, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Aug. 14, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 22, 2025.


Who’s Eligible

Plaintiff and all individuals who, from Jan. 1, 2023, through April 9, 2025, applied for a job opening with Claire’s in Washington through a job posting on Claire’s website or one of Claire’s authorized third-party recruiting channels on Indeed.com, where the job posting did not disclose a wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of benefits or other compensation to be provided to the hired applicant.
