Certain Bank of America credit card holders who were enrolled in the bank’s eBill AutoPay plan may be eligible to benefit from a class action settlement.

The Class is made up of any current or former Bank of America credit card holder who was enrolled in Bank of America eBill AutoPay for their credit card, selected the “Amount Due” payment option between June 3, 2014, and March 7, 2021, and as of May 21, 2021, switched their payment option from “Amount Due” to “Account Balance” after making an “Amount Due” payment and being assessed interest.

Bank of America serves about 66 million consumer and small business clients in the United States, according to its website.

The company denies all accusations of wrongdoing, but has agreed to the settlement in order to avoid the costs and burden of litigation.

Class Members will automatically receive a check for their proportionate share of the settlement fund after attorney’s fees and other expenses are deducted.

No claim form will be required; Bank of America records will be used to establish who belongs in the Class.

The amount will be based on the total number of Class Members and the total amount of interest paid by Class Members from when their initial “Amount Due” selection went into effect to when their payment options switched to “Account Balance.”

A final approval hearing in the Bank of America eBill AutoPay settlement is scheduled for Nov. 17, 2021.

The deadline to opt out of or object to the settlement is Sept. 11, 2021.

Class Members are not required to file a claim in order to receive a payment.
