$1.5M HALO BassiNest class action settlement

HALO Innovations agreed to a $1.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims its BassiNest Flex Morning Mist and BassiNest Flex Heather Weave bassinets have a design defect that causes the sleep surface to tilt.

The HALO BassiNest settlement benefits consumers who purchased a HALO BassiNest Flex Morning Mist or HALO BassiNest Flex Heather Weave bassinet on or before Feb. 10, 2025.

According to the BassiNest tilt issue class action lawsuit, the HALO bassinets have a design defect that causes the sleep surface to tilt. This allegedly puts babies at risk of rolling onto their sides or stomachs, potentially obstructing their airways. Plaintiffs in the case argue that HALO knew about the BassiNest tilt issue but failed to recall the product or warn consumers.

HALO Innovations is a baby product company that sells a variety of products, including the BassiNest bassinets.

HALO hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $1.5 million to resolve the bassinet class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the HALO BassiNest settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of products they purchased and whether they have proof of purchase.

With valid proof of purchase, class members can receive up to $30 per class product purchased, per household. Without proof of purchase, class members can receive up to $10 per class product purchased, per household. These amounts are both subject to possible pro rata increases.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 10, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the HALO BassiNest settlement is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2025.

In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by June 10, 2025.

Who’s Eligible

Consumers who purchased a HALO BassiNest Flex Morning Mist or HALO BassiNest Flex Heather Weave product before Feb. 10, 2025.

Potential Award

$30 per purchase with proof of purchase or $10 otherwise, subject to a pro rata increase.

Proof of Purchase

Store receipts, online purchase receipts, order confirmations, etc.
