TalentLaunch has agreed to a $1.2 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a data breach that compromised sensitive employee information.

The settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notification from TalentLaunch informing them their private information may have been compromised in a data breach in May 2023.

TalentLaunch is an employment agency that connects employers with potential employees. The company has several branches, including Alliance Industrial, Alliance Healthcare, Helpmates, Selectemp, Bonney Staffing, Stivers and The McIntyre Group.

According to claims made in the class action lawsuit, TalentLaunch failed to prevent a data breach in May 2023 that compromised sensitive employee information. Plaintiffs in the case argued the breach was the result of TalentLaunch’s failure to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures.

The TalentLaunch data breach was reportedly discovered in May 2023 and affected around 119,000 individuals.

TalentLaunch has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.2 million settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the TalentLaunch data breach settlement, class members can receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses related to the data breach. This includes documented expenses, such as identity theft or identity fraud, falsified tax returns, communication charges, travel expenses and unpaid time off work at the class member’s regular hourly rate.

Class members can also receive a cash payment from the settlement. According to the settlement website, each class member is estimated to receive $53.77. However, this amount may be increased or decreased depending on the number of claims filed. No payment will exceed $350.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 25, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the TalentLaunch data breach settlement is scheduled for Aug. 12, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 25, 2025.
