2nd round of Massachusetts Columbia Gas settlement checks
Columbia Gas sent a second round of payments to Massachusetts residents from a $143 million Columbia Gas explosion settlement.
The settlement benefits residents and business owners of the Lawrence, Andover and North Andover communities during a gas explosion that took place Sept. 13, 2018.
According to the class action lawsuit, over-pressurized gas lines and poor maintenance caused the September 2018 explosion. The explosions allegedly damaged hundreds of buildings and killed one person.
Columbia Gas didn’t admit any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $143 million to resolve the class action lawsuit. Claimants could receive up to $15,000 depending on how the gas explosion affected them. Following an initial round of payments, TCA readers report a second round of class action rebates from this settlement worth up to $46.
The deadline to submit a claim with the settlement was March 27, 2020.

Meta, Facebook location tracking class action rebates
Checks are in the mail from a $37.5 million privacy settlement with Meta resolving claims it tracked Facebook user locations without their consent.
The settlement benefits Facebook users between Jan. 30, 2015, and April 18, 2018, who turned the iOS or Android location services settings for the Facebook application off on their phone at any time during the period but whose location information Facebook inferred using their IP addresses.
Plaintiffs in the Facebook class action lawsuit claim this location tracking allegedly violated Facebook users’ privacy rights.
Meta did not admit any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $37.5 million to resolve the Facebook privacy class action lawsuit. Under the terms of the settlement, consumers could receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Top Class Actions readers report receiving $31.77 from the privacy settlement.
The deadline to submit a claim with the settlement was Aug. 11, 2023.
The Meta location tracking settlement is Lundy, et al. v. Meta Platforms Inc., Case No. 3:18-cv-06793-JD, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
2nd round of Fairlife Milk cow mistreatment settlement checks
Our viewers report receiving a second round of payments from a $21 million class action settlement with Fairlife Milk over cow mistreatment.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased Fairlife or Fair Oak Farms milk, ice cream, butter, yogurt and other dairy products on or before April 27, 2022.
According to the class action lawsuit, Fairlife Milk, Fair Oak Farms and their parent company Coca-Cola falsely advertised its dairy products as coming from cows that are treated well. In reality, the companies allegedly treat their cows to “horrific animal abuse.”
Fairlife Milk hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $21 million settlement to resolve the class action lawsuit. Consumers received payments of up to $92.47 from the settlement’s initial round of payments. Top Class Actions readers reportedly received a second round of payments worth up to $36 from the settlement.
The deadline to submit a claim with the settlement was Dec. 27, 2022.

Schnucks false advertising class action rebates
Top Class Actions readers report checks in the mail from a $4 million settlement resolving claims it used false reference prices to sell alcohol.
The settlement benefits Missouri residents who purchased alcohol (wine and spirits) from Schnucks’ online store or a Schnucks store in Missouri between Dec. 3, 2015, and Feb. 15, 2023.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Schnucks used false price comparisons to advertise its alcohol products. These prices allegedly convinced consumers they were getting a good deal, making them more likely to purchase the products.
Schnucks agreed to pay $4 million to resolve the false advertising class action lawsuit. Under the terms of the settlement, consumers could receive $11 without proof of purchase or up to $72 with proof of purchase. Two TCA viewers reportedly received $11 payments from the false sale settlement.
The deadline to submit a claim with the settlement was Sept. 8, 2023.
The Schnuck false advertising settlement is Perry v. Schnuck Markets Inc., Case No. 20222-CC10425, in the Missouri Circuit Court for the City of St. Louis.
HelloFresh TCPA settlement checks
Checks are in the mail from a $14 million HelloFresh settlement resolving claims the meal subscription service violated federal telemarketing laws.
The settlement benefits consumers who received calls from HelloFresh, either directly or through a third party, between Sept. 5, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2019.
According to the class action lawsuit, HelloFresh bombarded consumers with telemarketing calls without consent in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. One plaintiff claims she received 15 calls from HelloFresh even after asking to be put on the internal do-not-call list.
HelloFresh hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $14 million to resolve the class action lawsuit. Consumers could receive an equal share of the net settlement fund, estimated to be $30 to $50. TCA readers received payments of $118.63, more than twice the anticipated amount.
The deadline to submit a claim with the settlement is March 29, 2021.
The HelloFresh TCPA settlement is Murray, et al. v. Grocery Delivery E-services USA Inc. d/b/a Hello Fresh, Case No. 1:19-cv-12608-WGY, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Cancer meds price-fixing class action rebates
Our viewers report checks in the mail from a $34 million settlement with Celgene over claims the company conspired to raise the price of life-saving cancer medications.
The settlement benefits patients and third-party payors who paid for cancer medications Thalomid or Revlimid in California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or Tennessee before May 20, 2020.
Patients, insurers and other plaintiffs in the case claim they were forced to pay an inflated price for cancer meds such as Thalomid and Revlimid. According to the plaintiffs, Celgene and other companies conspired to raise the price of these medications while suppressing cheaper generic alternatives.
Celgene agreed to pay $34 million to resolve the price-fixing class action lawsuit. Claimants could receive a settlement payment based on the amount they paid for cancer medications. One TCA reader reports receiving $135.59 from this price-fixing settlement.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement was Oct. 15, 2020. Some consumers may not have been required to file a claim if they participated in a similar settlement in 2019.
The Cancer medication price-fixing settlement is In re: Thalomid and Revlimid Antitrust Litigation, Case No. 14-6997 (MCA) (MAH), in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
