woman with settlement moneyTop Class Actions viewers report receiving checks and gift cards from two class action settlements — a Ross class action settlement and an Anthem data breach class action settlement.

Anthem Data Breach Class Action Settlement

Top Class Actions viewers say that they have received checks for out-of-pocket losses suffered as a result of an Anthem data breach worth as much as $5,000.

Class Members include those who received a notice from Anthem about a data breach that occurred in 2015, or those whose personal information was taken during that incident.

Anthem Inc. and other health benefit companies reached a $115 million settlement to settle a data breach class action lawsuit.

Reportedly, Anthem announced in February 2015 that there had been a cyberattack into its databases. The company says that the personal information of around 79 million individuals had been compromised.

The Anthem data breach class action lawsuit claimed that Anthem did not do enough to protect its information and did not do enough to respond to the data breach, putting customers at risk for fraud and identity theft.

The deadline to file a claim for out-of-pocket expenses was Aug. 16, 2019.

Class Members are represented by Eve Cervantez of Altzhuler Berzon LLP, Andrew N. Friedman of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, Michael W. Sobol of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP, and Eric Gibbs of Girard Gibbs LLP.

The Anthem Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit is In re: Anthem Inc. Data Breach Litigation, Case No. 5:15-md-02617-LHK, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Fake Sale Ross Class Action Settlement

According to Top Class Actions viewers, they are also receiving gift cards worth as much as $10.49 from a Ross “compare at” pricing class action settlement.

Class Members include customers who purchased one or more item with a Ross price tag that included a “compare at” price from a Ross store on or after June 20, 2011, and who have not received a refund or credit for all of the purchases.

Ross Stores Inc. reached a $4.85 million settlement with customers who say that the retailers used deceptive pricing methods to entice customers into making purchases.

According to the Ross class action lawsuit, Ross sold items bearing price tags that included a “compare at” price from a Ross store. The customers claimed that the items had never been offered at the advertised, higher price.

The customers say that this pricing tactic misled customers into believing that the item was worth more than it was. Allegedly, had they known that the item had not been offered at the higher price, they might not have purchased it, or would not have paid as much as they did for it.

The deadline to file a claim for the Ross class action was May 31, 2019.

I have USPS Informed Delivery service and it showed that I was supposed to receive this in my mail on Saturday November 30th. Unfortunately it never arrived and now I have submitted an online missing mail request. I wonder what I am supposed to do if someone else takes my mail and cashes it? At least I know what the amount is going to be if USPS ever finds and gets it to me.
