Suunto Dive Computer Class Action Settlement

Reportedly, Top Class Actions viewers are receiving checks worth as much as $525 from the Suunto Dive Computer class action settlement.

Consumers in the Suuto Dive Computer class action lawsuit accused Suunto of selling defective depth pressure sensor devices meant to be used by scuba divers.

Allegedly, these defective devices were sold through Aqua Lung, and were built and sold between Jan. 1, 2006 and Aug. 10, 2018.

The consumers said that the defect could be dangerous to divers, because inaccurate depth and temperature readings can be dangerous for those who rely on this information.

The devices allegedly affected by the defective depth pressure sensors include:

  • Cobra, Cobra 2, Cobra 3, Cobra 3 Black
  • Vyper, Vyper Novo, Vyper 2, Vyper Air
  • HelO2
  • Gekko
  • Vytec, Vytec DS
  • Zoop, Zoop Novo
  • Mosquito
  • D4, D6, D9, D4i, D6i, D4i Novo, D6i Novo, D9tx, DX

Under the terms of the Suunto class action settlement, Class Members who had their dive computers got a free replacement or repair, while Class Members who discarded their device because of the alleged defect could obtain reimbursement.

The deadline to file a claim in the Suunto Dive Computer class action settlement was Feb. 24, 2019.

The consumers were represented by Timothy G. Blood, and Paula R. Brown of Blood Hurst & O’Reardon LLP, and by Douglas A. Hofmann and John A. Knox of Williams Kastner & Gibbs PLLC.

The Suunto Dive Computer Class Action Lawsuit is Huntzinger v. Suunto Oy, et al., Case No. 37-2018-00027159-CU-BT-CTL, in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Diego.

Art Van Furniture Marketing Phone Call Class Action Settlement

Top Class Actions viewers are also receiving checks worth as much as $114.77 from the Art Van Furniture marketing phone call class action settlement.

Consumers accused Art Van Furniture of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by using prerecorded phone messages sent via automatic telephone dialing system to contact them to advertise products.

Class Members included “all individuals and entities who were called by or on behalf of Art Van Furniture through the use of pre-recorded voice technology between May 23, 2013 and July 23, 2018.”

The deadline to file a claim for the Art Van Furniture marketing phone call class action settlement passed on Sept. 26, 2018.

Class Members were represented by Steven L. Woodrow, Patrick H. Peluso, and Taylor Smith of Woodrow & Peluso LLC, and by Stefan Coleman of the Law Offices of Stefan Coleman.

The Art Van Furniture Call Marketing Class Action Lawsuit is Bowman v. Art Van Furniture, Case No. 2:17-CV-11630-NGE-RSW, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Greyhound Lines ADA Class Action Settlement

In addition, Top Class Actions viewers are receiving checks worth as much as $1,411.71 from the Greyhound Lines ADA class action settlement.

The Department of Justice accused Greyhound Lines of violating the ADA by not providing accessible transportation and transportation-related services to individuals with disabilities.

The DOJ said that by not providing “full and equal” enjoyment of its transportation services, Greyhound discriminates against a group of citizens.

Class Members include those who have a disability, “traveled or attempted to travel on Greyhound between Feb. 8, 2013, and Feb. 8, 2016, and experienced a disability-related incident during his or her travel or attempt to travel (such as lack of accessible transportation or transportation-related services, Greyhound’s failure to make disability-related accommodations, etc.).”

The deadline to file a claim for the Greyhound ADA class action settlement was Nov. 10, 2016.

The Greyhound ADA Class Action Lawsuit is United States of America v. Greyhound Lines Inc., Civil Action No: 16-67-RGA, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
