Nelson’s Homeopathic Products at Center of Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

By Mike Holter

Nelson's Rescue RemedyNelson’s is one of the premiere manufacturers of homeopathic products in the world, and is the name behind such popular brands as Bach Original Flower Remedies, Bach RESCUE Remedy, Pure & Clear, Arnileve, and H+care. Millions of consumers worldwide have purchased Nelson’s homeopathic products since it was established in 1860 and swear by their healing powers. But some critics are decrying these “cures” as nothing more than a placebo effect.

Nelson’s is now at the center of a class action lawsuit investigation into whether it’s deceptively advertising its homeopathic products as being able to treat certain ailments, including aches and pains, anxiety, colds, infections, digestion, emotional health, energy, sleep and more.

How Nelson’s Homeopathic Products Work (or Don’t Work)

Nelson’s manufactures a number of popular homeopathic products based on the homeopathy philosophy that individuals can cure certain ailments by treating them with a highly diluted substance that would normally trigger the symptom if given in large doses.

The problem, according to homeopathy class action lawsuit attorneys, is that oftentimes the active ingredient in a homeopathic product is so diluted that zero to little of the original substance remains. In other words, consumers are paying a lot of money for something that is, in essence, a sugar pill.

Another problem homeopathy class action lawsuit attorneys have found with these products is that advertisements mislead consumers into believing they’re proven remedies, even though no credible scientific evidence exists to back up their marketing claims.

For example, numerous studies conducted over several decades have attempted to prove that Bach RESCUE Remedy and Bach Flower Remedies work. However, not a single peer-reviewed study has confirmed the efficacy of these so-called flower essences.

According to one recent review of multiple clinical trials:

“The hypothesis that flower remedies are associated with effects beyond a placebo response is not supported by data from rigorous clinical trials.”

Many of these studies have concluded that Bach remedies are only as effective as a placebo in reducing illness, stress, anxiety and mental health problems.

Is Nelson’s Homeopathy a Scam?

Many consumers swear by Nelson’s homeopathic products, while others claim they are simply experiencing a placebo effect. Consumers that fall into this second category often feel they have been scammed into purchasing an expensive product that didn’t work as advertised.

If you’re one of these consumers, you may be entitled to a refund of any Nelson’s products you purchased that didn’t work as advertised.

Natural and Homeopathic Consumer Advocates have launched a class action lawsuit investigation into Nelson’s, and are actively searching for consumers who believe they were scammed.
