Live Nation Reaches Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

Live NationAfter nearly a decade of legal wrangling, Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. and its parent company Clear Channel, Inc. have finally agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement concerning antitrust violations.
 
The Live Nation class action settlement will resolve 22 consumer antitrust class action lawsuits dating back to 2002 that were consolidated in Los Angeles federal court. The Plaintiffs allege in the lawsuits that Live Nation and Clear Channel attempted to monopolize the market and engaged in anticompetitive conduct in connection with their nationwide promotion of live music concerts.
 
“The parities in all 22 actions have reached a global settlement agreement, which is in the process of being finalized,” Live Nation said in a court filing last week.
 
The terms of the Live Nation class action settlement agreement weren’t disclosed in the filing, which asked U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson to put the case on hold until the settlement is ironed out.
