Details: The Rice Krispies cereal class action settlement resolves a lawsuit, entitled Weeks v. Kellogg, that alleges Kellogg Company falsely advertised that Rice Krispies cereal and Cocoa Krispies cereal supported a person’s immunity despite not having competent clinical evidence to support the claim. Kellogg stands by its advertising and denies it did anything wrong, but has agreed to create a $2.5 million settlement fund to pay out Class Members and resolve the litigation.


You’re considered a Class Member of the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies class action lawsuit settlement if you purchased Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal or Cocoa Krispies cereal in the United States between June 1, 2009 and March 1, 2010. Class Members may seek reimbursement of $5 per box of Rice Krispies or Cocoa Krispies purchased, with a maximum receovery of $15 for the purchase of up to three boxes.

To receive payment, claim forms must be completed and either submitted online at www.CerealAdvertisingSettlement.com or postmarked by November 16, 2011. Only one claim form per household. You will not be required to submit proof of purchase; however, you must declare under penalty of perjury that you did purchase the cereal.
