HerSolution Sexual Enhancement Supplement Carries Hidden Risks

By Courtney Coren

HerSolution ingredientsWomen may start to lose their sex drive for a variety of reasons at different times in their lives, such as after having a baby, during menopause and even due to factors such as poor diet, lack of exercise and stress. These female arousal problems may lead them to start looking for solutions so that their relationships don’t start to suffer.

As a result, there are many over-the-counter sexual enhancement products for women now available.

One popular female libido booster is called HerSolution. HerSolution is an herbal sexual enhancement supplement made by Leading Edge Health that claims to be 100-percent natural, effective and completely safe.

“Carefully formulated by a team of professionals, HerSolution contains a very precise blend of herbals, nutrients, and aphrodisiacs that work together to gently and naturally restore your desire for and enjoyment of sex,” the HerSolution website states.

Leading Edge Health claims that the supplement works by “naturally correcting the many hormonal, nutritional, and stress-induced imbalances that may be robbing you of the desire for sexual intimacy.”

It even comes with 60 day money-back guarantee.

Sounds innocent enough. So what is the downside?

HerSolution Ingredients May Pose Risks

HerSolution ingredients include tribulus terrestris and DHEA.

The tribulus terrestris is an herbal supplement that increases testosterone levels that helps to both increase sexual performance as well as to aid in building muscle. The type of tribulus terrestris that Leading Edge Health puts in its formula is called epimedium sagittatum.

The downside to this ingredient for women is that increased testosterone may help increase sexual function, but it can also lead to an increase in facial hair and contribute to mood changes.

DHEA is a hormone made in the adrenal gland that converts into the sex hormones estrogen and testosterone.

However, the concern with DHEA is that it can increase levels of androgens and estrogen that are too high which could increase the risk for some types of cancer such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, and prostate cancer. There is also concern that it may increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.

Also, when DHEA is combined with hops, another ingredient in HerSolution, it can lead to excessive drowsiness, slow muscle control, and even coma. The two ingredients should be used cautiously together.

The point is to make sure the ingredients are safe to use whether alone or in combination with each other.

  1. Janis Peace says:

I don’t know about this product but I do know about DHEA probably more than anyone living. In October of 1996, which I know is way past the time limit in the State of Virginia, I took DHEA for energy only. There were no warnings on the bottle at that time and the amounts recommended were way more than today. I felt great . . . at first. It was truly a miracle. BUT, the bottle said Natural Yam Extract and I thought it was something from a sweet potato as anyone would but of course that is not what it was. To make a very long story short, it changed just about everything about me. My character, personality, aggressiveness, muscular strength, energy, libido, and all of this happened over a year and a half to two years. My entire life changed and is in ruin. I cannot believe the things I did. I went from being a very respectable nice woman to being someone I couldn’t recognize. I currently have post traumatic stress syndrome and depression after all I have been through. I couldn’t let anyone know exactly what was going on with me because my brain was controlling my body and I didn’t really understand myself. I went to many, many, many doctors and just about none knew what this supplement is or was. I went just recently to a new doctor and she to this day doesn’t know what it is!! Think of that. It’s in our bodies naturally and they don’t have a clue. It’s stolen 20 years of my life and I am not the same person at all. I am practically a recluse. My Father passed away while all of this craziness was going on and it pains me dearly to know he had no clue as to why I was behaving this way. My ex-husband didn’t know either and he has moved on with his life but now knows I was very sick at the time. Too much has happened for us but I believe this product is very dangerous and the government knew it all along and I have used much of my past life, the 20 years, figuring out exactly how it works and what happened to me. I don’t know where the negative reports are kept but the FDA does know this is dangerous. I have spoken to everyone everywhere and could get nothing done about this. It needs to be in the hands of doctors monitoring it. Every body is different. All of these things are dangerous without monitoring by a doctor. I was really “insane” at the two year period so how could I have handled this situation by myself. The doctor didn’t report it and I believe it was her job to do so. As far as I know, no doctor has reported it. One thing I know now, there is a large warning label on it today and you have to be 18 to purchase it. The mgs. are 5 now. Very low. The adverse event reports, I believe, are with the pharmaceutical companies which also makes no sense if that is correct. This is my subject. This is what I talk about. I have written to tv shows, lawyers, everyone and since it’s not someone in their family, I’ll never get any attention nationally out of this. It’s ruined my entire life and changed the way I look at everything and everyone. This is sincere. Please listen to what I am writing and saying to you.
